I was just thinking :D
Is SoD still worth the talent points after the nerf to 25 sec?

Depends on your play style. The point could also be read as " After death, stun your target for 3 secs and cause 25% of your 23k hp as damage to everyone nearby " .
That, for a single point, is still very very powerful in my opinion.

A single point for vastly reduced Dura payments? I'd say so. (Unless they nerfed it?)

The talent gives 2% strength and stamina, it's worth taking just for that. Turning into a ghoul is just an extra perk.

idk if you guys have been having this problem but sometimes shadow of death doesnt trigger and i just die... kinda ghetto if you ask me
I've had this happen once or twice... I wonder if it has anything to do with a particular debuff you might have when you die. I'll have to keep an eye out.

It doesnt trigger when you die out of combat, thats all i know.

The only times I've had it not trigger are the times when I've been one- or two-shotted by a boss. If I'm offtanking a Naxxramas run and just deal damage on a boss in my DPS gear and the tank suddenly dies, I'm out in a few hits and don't get the transformation. This happened quite often when my guild was still learning Loatheb.
And, if I remember correctly, it's happened when I main tanked something, too. I'm thinking it has something to do with the amount of damage you receive on the last blow before you die, but it's all guessing.
