Disc is a real PvP spec, i think its possible to heal with if you spec a bit in holy. But Disc as PvE spec isn't realy usefull in my opinion.
You can always just try to respec and check it out a bit.
I think this
is a avarage spec to start off with for your level.
Do NOT follow what this poster suggested.
PvE Disc gained a huge amount of viability with the Wrath talents that were introduced in 3.0. Disc gives strong single-target healing and a healthy amount of regen through Rapture. PW:S to "stop" damage being taken on a tank, then giving them a quick Penance is very effective. Anything that improves the HEALING of those two spells needs to be considered. The poster above left out key talents and ignored the PvE capability of Disc.
I do have to say though, it takes a lot of patience to heal for groups. Even the best four personalities you can find could absolutely ruin your afternoon. You're very dependent on instances for leveling when you're spec'd for healing. You might not be too good at it, and there's a fair amount of reliance on you being able to handle situations.
Gearing for Disc, you're taking mp5 > Int > Spellpower > Haste > Spirit > Crit. More Spellpower means stronger heals. More intellect means more heals, more return from Rapture, and more crits. Crit, besides the obvious benefit of crit, also gives return from Rapture. Spirit is very common on cloth now, it will help your regen both while casting and not. mp5 is pretty common on healing gear, and will be the obvious sign that the mage/warlock/DPS shouldn't roll against you on it, just like hit is an obvious sign you shouldn't roll against them on a piece.
Do not expect to be able to PvP like a pro in the 2100s in your arena team and heal a 25man Naxx with the same spec.Disc PvE - 57/14/0
This spec focuses on buffs you, your group, or your raid will appreciate. It also focuses on improving stats that might be a rarity on your gear.Disc PvP - 57/14/0
This build picks up on every survival talent you'll find, sacrificing the raw healing you'll find in other talents, and investing it in ones that will keep you alive.
Both specs focus on the same "rotation" though. PW:S to stop incoming damage, followed by a haste-powered Penance. During Penance's cooldown, you're doing your filler heals to stabilize ANYTHING ELSE that's going on.
The points in Holy are mainly support talents, so your priority is to get those 57 points put into the Disc talents first.
(edit: fixed some of those stats.)
