I'm not aware of any changes to the
Frozen Shadoweave Set
with the latest patch. Wowhead doesn't list a pre 2.3 version of any of the items so I'm thinking nothing changed.
The +Spell Hit socket bonuses on the FSW items is fairly useless. There are enough items out there that offer +Spell Hit that you shouldn't need the +9 from the FSW set. Socket all three pieces with +9 Spell Damage gems.
A nice compliment to the FSW set is the
Spellstrike Set
or the
Battlecast Set
. The Spellstrike is geared more for DPS while the Battlecast with it's higher stam is primarily for PvP/Arena.
