I am looking for answers on why Silent Resolve is not needed. I am looking at Disc building in particular, and have scoured over this forum and Elitist Jerks. The basic 57/14/0 build does not use it, and does this apply to only raiding, or 5 man instancing? Is it because how much threat a tank can generate in an AE fashion? Is there a fine line that needs to be balanced when not taking Silent Resolve. Oh, and this question is searching for PvE answers.

Yea now adays after first 3 seconds of the pull the only thing that draws aggro off the tank is usually a dps like a mage or hunter. If I happen to pull aggro just fade and the tank should already be on it, and if that doesn't work see Valandily "b"

Thank you, I think a lot of dps is masquerading as tanks out there. Good threat toons seem few and far between.
