Technically
, it is possible. Not for your character specifically though; you'd replace, say, all undead males with some other model (I dunno, an Abomination). And it would only be visible to you- no one else.
There's a bit of a sticking point, however. Doing so is against the EULA that you agreed to when you made your account (and then again after every major patch). There are legitimate reasons for that (without going into too much detail, model swapping enables some pretty extreme exploits).
So, yes, it's possible. Doing so is very likely a bad idea. And it's really not a topic for discussion on Wowhead.

It doesn't work like that. The models only change the asthetics. Data on enemies like the hit box, etc, are not stored locally... Or you could make it so you could kill Illidan (or whoever) from 10,000 yards away and take no damage.
This used to be easily possible, but no longer is, and is detectable and bannable by Blizzard. Just imagine replacing the model for the time-lost Proto Drake to be something huge so you could find it and farm it easily. Not good.

Just to reinforce ... this is a bannable offense. Don't do this.
