It probably also takes longer with the expansion being relatively new.
However, I don't believe that they tell you when your SS gets declined.

Actually, it usually only takes me a day at most, usually less. We have no backlog at the moment. I'm afraid that we have so many submissions it's really not possible for me to tell you why one has been rejected. Occasionally I do make mistakes and click the wrong button, but that's not too often. As I mentioned in the other thread, I have some screenshot-related comments on my profile, which is linked from my username to the right. We also have a

You don't get any confirmation as to the status. I know a long time ago I sent in a SS for
Ghost Wolf
, and it never was accepted. I wasn't given any notice that it was reviewed, and it never appeared on the page. Same thing with the SS that I did get approved at the start of Cata - no notice, it just appeared on the site. If you don't see anything within a week or so, assume it was declined.
