So I'm a tank. Is there a way to one-click the raid markings onto the target? (Using a Macro)

I am a level 21 Protection Warrior and I'm in an active but small guild with members around my level. I'm the tank whenever we go into Dungeons. I am having a problem with marking the targets with Skull, X, Diamond and so on.
My idea is to make a Macro that marks the target with, let's say, the Skull. This is where I need help or advice.
First off, I bind "Assign Skull to Target" to "Shift + U". So to mark a target with skull I obviously press Shift and U.. :D.
Now, I'd like to make a Macro that when I click it, it's the same as pressing "Shift and U"
Is this possible? It'd really help me out because at the minute the group is spending 5-10 seconds (considering group size) waiting for me to mark the targets of the next battle.

Replace X with a number from 1 to 8. Star is 1, Circle is 2, Diamond 3, Triangle 4, Moon 5, Square 6, Cross 7, Skull 8.
It won't make it so it'll execute "Shift+U" when you click the macro, though. Rather, it bypasses Shift+U entirely.

This works perfect! Exactly what I wanted. Thank you very much - you've sliced a lot of time off Dungeon runs for me, thanks again!
I've used the /command above and added "/say This is the first target!" as a new line, so when I mark it says that. Excellent, couldn't be happier :D

Interesting idea GrimGiz. I'll try that out for sure! Strange how it only works for main action bar. I will try it with Dominos on Bar 2 (Bar 1 is equivilent to Main Action Bar) and report back.

there is a addon on cursed that is called "markbar" that you get a tiny bar that you got all the icons just clikc on target then icon

What I do is just bind the markings to my number pad. Makes it easier from the beginning to just tab target and mark them. The announcing first target is a good idea but I generally just tell everyone at the beginning of the run what the markings are for.

Skull is always bound to my mid mouse button. Great for Rage Floating and when a pull becomes chaotic getting a skull up when say a patrol is pulled on accident is a lot easier.

Personally, I bound all of the marks to my number pad. 1=skull 2=X, ect.

there is also an addon you can download from Curse.com called Quick Marks. Gives you a small bar of all the raid icons, and makes it real easy to click on him, then the icon you want without have to scroll around all the time. Otherwise, you can also set up macros.
