Ew powerleveling. Build an amazing open-world rpg and a great story, and people will still sit there and spam a spell for an hour to level up =P
what can I say? I dislike being a weakling, I'd rather be a powerhouse from the get-go.
Makes the fights more epic.
I considered power-levelling, but doing so would eliminate one half of the 'growing as an adventurer' aspect of the game. Furthermore, I actually look for skill books.
To one its own, I guess.
meh, I just roleplay that I was an already seasoned orc Shaman that just fled cyrodiil due to the Thalmor Dominion killing everyone who didn't worshiped THEIR pantheon of gods.
Ok, where is the trapdoor for Labyrinthian?... I'm going to go insane looking for...
wish I could tell you but I honest-to-god dont remember, that article I linked to you said the overall location of it, but not a specific spot. Maybe youtube has the answer?
And now, here is a partial list of the bugs in skyrim that annoyme, I hope fan-made mods to fix them are released soon.
A: can't equip more than 1 ring.
B: the quest "A cornered rat" cant be completed because Esbern refuses to open his door and has no dialog (already did a workaround to get him to talk but now his voice-files are all weird, with him having over 3 different voices, on one minute he talks like christopher lee, on another he talks like patrick stewart, ect)
C: if you become a werewolf and then cure yourself, you will NEVER be able to become a vampire again, because due to a bug, the 100% resistance to diseases from werewolf will remain on you.
D: Dual-casting spells is a pain in the ass unless you bind the spells to your favorites list, and then bind them to your numbered keys. This is because spells in your right hand can't be un-equiped normally, you have to equip a new weapon in your right hand to un-equip the spell, then remove the weapon then add a new spell. Obviously this makes spell-swaping a real pain in the ass.
E: Not sure if this is a bug or a design oversight, but stuff deposited in containers isn't sorted out in categories, so if you dump all your crafting materials, and all exessive armor and weapons on a chest in your house, they will all be on 1 giant category, and will take a while to locate them (On oblivion everything stored was classified on weapons, armor, potions, and misc)
F: Can't marry Lydia T_T she's one of my favorite NPCs and she is meant to be married, but can't seem to do it.
G: The quest "Phaartunax" has to be completed BEFORE finishing the main campaign, otherwise, he becomes quest-essential and impossible to kill.
H: Mammoths tend to fall from the sky at some points.
I: Those mysterious dragon attacks on towns were the result of a bug, they aren't meant to attack main cities.

It seems like you will be relying a lot on Conjuration in the early game, when your stealth is not good enough yet to be virtually invisible, and on Sneak late game. The only problem I see is that in the later game, neither Sneak nor Conjuration are any good against dragons.
Armor type depends on how much Alteration do you want to use imo. Either use Cloth items and go Alteration for improved mage armors, or Light armor. Since you will be rolling a hybrid, I would probably use Dragonscale armor (light armor, made out of dragon scales, requires 100 smithing) and max out Enchanting so you can enchant each piece with two things, and then make the Dragonscale armor into kind of a dual-spec thing.
For thief enchants, there is one thief dude associated with the Thieves guild, who wears a full named set of armor, and it can be disenchanted and teaches you four unique thief-specific enchant formulas. I think his name is Linwe, he is a high elf and the quest is associated with Windhelm.
Meh. I don't want to spend points on smithing, nor on enchanting. I'll probably use summoned antarchs to take on dragons, while I hack at them with summoned swords, and use alteration to increase my defense.
My main areas will be:
Sneak (maxed)
One hand (just +dmg and +crit... no stamina save stuff or special moves)
Conjur (just to lower mana cost, increase number of summoned creatures, and increase summon blade dmg)
Alteration (just for dmg reduction)
Restoration (just mana regen)
archery (just +dmg)
Anything left after that I'll put into destruction. Nothing into any tradeskill type abilities.
Edit: and sneak will be the first thing I max out. Ill sneak, and auto run, stand behind a stationary guard with my nose pointed into a corner, turn off my screen, and go to bed.

Archery is a Godsend for early game stealth, before your skill gets high enough to walk up to enemies and backstab. Level that and Dragons shouldnt be too big a problem, playing a Nord or Dark Elf helps a lot against them as well since you can soak massive frost/fire damage.
Also now that I think of it Conjuration may help more than you think with dragons. Nothing helps with dragon killing early in the game more than having an NPC tank the thing while you unload on it, especialy if you play a stealth class and cant take a lot of punishment yourself.

None of these are bugs.

Neither of these are encountered on the consol versions, not sure about that one npc being unkillable. I have been playing on an Xbox 360 and havnt encountered almost any bugs at all, from reading online it seems the PC version is a bit less ironed out and buggier, although yall can mod it up so I guess thats ok.

Hm. It seems like I haven't experienced a whole lot of issues that Rankkorr has. It's probably the automatic patches. There was a fairly big patch even right on the release day. I assume Rankkorr's game was copied and cracked pre-release and doesn't include it.

yep =(
and frostshamadin, the unability to equip rings has to be a bug because in every elder scroll games you can have 2, one on each hand.
The unabiliy to become a vampire after curing yourself of werewolf is also a bug, the passive 100% resistance to diseases is NOT meant to remain.

I didnt think that was a bug either, in Morrowind you were immune to vampirsim after you got corpus desiese, even after you cured it. Not sure about the ring thing, did they say if it was a bug or they just changed the way they decided to do things?

wow, I really REALLY hate the thalmor. :S I just had to deal with a certain Thalmor jerkass in a side-quest that I wont mention to avoid spoilers.
This guy basically had an eldritch artifact that would had allowed him to destroy ALL of Nirn (READ: not just the continent of Tamriel, THE WHOLE GODDAMN WORLD, Thalmor Dominion lands included) and he wanted to use it to blow up the entire planet.
When confronted as to why would he wanna do such a crazed thing,
this
is his excuse.

G: The quest "Phaartunax" has to be completed BEFORE finishing the main campaign, otherwise, he becomes quest-essential and impossible to kill.
Not true. I have completed the main quest line and am able to kill him.
Attack him as much as you want, after 4-5 swings he should turn hostile and fly up into the air. Only when he is actually on the ground is he killable. He is not killable on his perch (the wall). If you do fatal damage to him while he is still on his perch, he will die instantly upon touching the ground.
Note: Sometimes if you kill him too quickly on the perch, he refuses to fly into the air and will "die" while on the perch, which is impossible, so he will immediately regenerate to full hp, giving him the appearance of being un-killable. In other words, let him turn hostile BEFORE killing him, or it won't work. As far as I can tell, the "neutral" Paarthurnax is an essential character, but if you allow him to become hostile, that status appears to be removed.
Not that I'd ever actually want to kill him, but eh. The option is there.

Well, I ended up doing the College of Winterhold to get in. And even if you knew where the trapdoor is/was you can't use it because there is a wooden door there, but it is barred from the inside.

I see what you did there...
Well, I had to do it at least once. Doubt there is any major NPC in this game I haven't charged at like a moron at least once.
Had to load a save after killing him though. Kind of felt like a d-bag.

I was talking about the "spoiler"!
True. Had seen his name mentioned several times so hadn't thought about it.

... Okay, so I just knocked the difficulty down and completed Azura's Star on my Thief. While she was talking to me, I decided I didn't want to "cheat" that much so I loaded my Fighter save using Console Command "load fighter". Azura kept talking, I completed the quest and got the star, on my level 2 fighter standing at the Guardian Stones outside Riverrun.
