And then I went to Solitude later and
joined the Imperials
. Ya. Both times I left the old lady who was the bandit's maid alive, I'm still temped to go back and brutally murder her for the lulz, and that I'll probably get away with it. But I still haven't cuz I don't wanna kill anyone unless they attack me first, even if I intentionally aggravated them enough to attack. Like that Khajiit lighthouse keeper at Solitude, I got away with that. I'm also kinda considering going back to Riverwood and commiting mass murder, cuz I'm sure I'll get away with it,
but I don't wanna be a baddie
. I'm too trigger happy in this game I think.
Too late.

Starting a new character for dawnguard, will be mage/archer. Mage so i can use spells like muffle, and a few others.
Archer so I can use more of the crossbow. On my old character I joined the vampires but later found out you can't get any of the better crossbows if you do. So this time joining the dawnguard.
Maybe conjuration as a 2ndary focus.
True enough, you can't get the best crossbow if you don't join the danwguard............... but then again, the crossbows are pretty irrelevant and redundant due to Auriel's bow. That thing beats the living CRAP out of every single other bow or crossbow in the game by a landslide.
Also I feel like I gotta clarify this:
Meh, we're gonna have to agree to disagree, I don't play much trust on people who "have visions". There's NOTHING to indicate that her visions are nothing more than her going senile. Add to that the fact that she refuses to do her job on the account that her "visions" tell her everything is fine (even when its not) and you get why I don't think she's fit to rule. I don't consider her a bad woman (in fact I think she's hilarious), just incompetent as a leader.
I haven't interacted with this woman yet (I don't frolic from town to town solving problems) But I will say that is a lot easier to lend credibility to someone who's had visions when said person lives in a world where an undead hating demonic entity felt like lifting me a few miles into the air to have a personal chat about how I was going to cleanse its temple. Or where a bunch of old scrolls tell the future but cause those who read them to go blind. Or where you can climb over a hill to see a group of bandits fighting a woolly mammoth, and watch as it slaughters them all only to immediately be burned to a crisp by a passing dragon.
And this:
Dragons, elves, vampires, werewolves, magic... An
entirely different world
, and an old witchy woman who says she has visions is what gets you, Rank?
I'm not trying to troll here, but it just seems strange that...
That
part was why you deem her unworthy to lead Morthal... Most of your reasons for hating the empire seem like that.
Ulfric came off, to me, as a self-serving, would-be dictator.
Oh, also, as a side note... The empire doesn't
support
the Thalmor, they
tolerate
them because they're
forced to
.
I gotta clarify.
See, I understand that this is a world ruled by magic, and thus the idea of someone having visions shouldn't be so strange. After all, YOU YOURSELF experience several visions, one of them in the college of winterhold questline when the Psijic monks contact you and you alone.
But the thing is, this woman isn't just "having visions" she's NOT DOING HER JOB. A voice told her that everything is fine, and thus even though skyrim and her hold are plagued by problems she's not doing anything at all. Plus she's old, and loves to drink (she's stone-dead drunk on the embassy party). So, I have more reasons to think her "visions" are more related to being drunk and senile, than any actual supernatural or divine interference.
If she had visions, and said visions were proven right in any way, that would be something else. IF she had visions, and used those visions to lead her hold in a better way that'd be something. but she doesn't. her visions consists exclusively of "everything is fine, stop yet worrying" and that's it. And therefore, she stops worrying and lets everything go to the crapper.

You know I dont think it will matter of the Imperials or the Stormcloaks win in canon. After we saved Morrowind it was destroyed by Red Mountain. After we saved Cyrodill it was invaded and half destroyed by the Thalmor.
I swear the second Dovahkiin steps out of Skyrim, Dagoth Ur is gonna come back flying the Zetta spaceship from Fallout 3 and
nuke the entire province.
EDIT: Also its true that there are magic visions in Skyrim, but IIRC it was implied that the woman may just be senile...
Actually there was a woman in Oblivion that was both. It was a mages guild quest, she was some famous seer, but she was also insane or senile or something and needed a magic amulet to keep her lucid.

Agreed. If there was any indication (any at all) that her visions were real, I would not have a problem with her, as long as her visions are real AND she uses them to better lead her hold. Instead, its neither. There is no proof her visions are real, AND she's content to do absolutely nothing, despite the mad chaos reigning in her hold and in skyrim in general.
Poor old woman is just senile, plus if her behavior on the embassy is anything to judge her, she seems a tad bit too fond of the bottle. If you know what I mean.

Aren't both factions jerks tho? So far I haven't done anything jerk-like with the imperials tho, I've wiped out bandits at a fort to prove myself to them, and went with Legate Rikke to a crypt filled with imperial traitors to regain the High King's Crown.
Actually I found the Imperials to be more sympathetic. Some of teh Stormcloaks are a bit racist, the only Impreial I had a big problem with was that &*!@# who wanted to hack your head off. I actually liked Tulius a lot more than Ulfric.
That being said though I still support the Stormcloak agenda (or at least the Nord I was playing supported them, being a true son of Skyrim and all that).
EDIT: What I mean btw is that as individuals I found the Imperials more sympathetic. As an orginisation I found the Stormcloaks more so.

They're both jerks, and they both have skeletons in their closets.
But one kisses the feet of a genocidal group that actively seeks to purge every non-elven race in the world, and actively arrests and execute anyone for worshiping their own damned gods, and the other seeks to rid skyrim of said genocidal group that actively seeks to purge every non-elven race int he world.
Actually I found the Imperials to be more sympathetic. Some of teh Stormcloaks are a bit racist, the only Impreial I had a big problem with was that &*!@# who wanted to hack your head off. I actually liked Tulius a lot more than Ulfric.
I found both to be on the same level of deùchebagery. I mean, some of the random stormcloak troops go "skyrim = nord-only" but other than random mooks, not much. With the imperials though, they're pushy, bossy (Like they think they own the land) and in the case of Rikke, a big damned hypocrite ("Hey look at me, I worship Jesus, but I have no problem at all in chasing other worshipers of Jesus and gut them like fish cuz my elven overlords tell me to")
I agree that Tulius is a hell of a lot better than Ulfric (pfft, as if that was hard, I've said it plenty of times before, Ulfric is at best a manchild) but other than him I have a hard time finding any sympathy for the imperials. Specially the Penitus Oculatus. And their commander.

Crossbows are so beeping great. I dont care that there might be better bows I like my crossbow, If I get a better bow it will just go on my wall of shiny but useless weapons along with some of the daedric weapons.

to my knowledge the improved dwarven crossbow is better then a dragon-bone bow.

Wouldn't worry about that. The best Xbow in the game does 2 more damage then a dragon-bone bow, it fires slower, however it also ignores 50% of your targets armor.

it is, however, both of them are nothing next to Auriel's bow.
Auriel's bow deals about the same damage, except it also deals aditional "Sun Damage (READ: magical damage that bypasses 100% of the enemy armor, and can't be resisted or absorbed since there are no "Sun-absorption" spells), has a MUCH faster fire-rate, deals quadruple damage to undead, can cause solar eclipses, and can also cause the sun to rain bolts of holy Sun Damage to any enemy in the area.
Any other ranged weapon in the game is a wet noodle compared to Auriel's Bow. If Skyrim was wow, Auriel's bow would be the game's first Legendary weapon.

That was just a random event, the game doesn't have many moral decisions to make. The main one is who to support on the civil war (Imperials vs Stormcloaks) as well as if you want to join the shadier guilds (Thieves guild, and Dark Brotherhood, AKA Assassin's Guild).
There's also (if you install the dawnguard plug-in) the decision on whether to join the Vohilkar Vampire clan, or the Dawnguard (Vampire Hunters)
And lastly, during the main campaign, some of your allies will force you to make a decision on whether or not to kill another one of your allies. I won't spoil who, but suffice to say both sides give plenty of good reasons to kill/spare the affected someone you are asked to kill. You can kill this someone, or refuse, it doesn't make THAT much of a difference, Personally, I chose not to hill this someone.

Ok riften is one of my favorite citys. As I was working on my smithing I was attacked by a vampire. Killed it nice and easy, but the beggar from there got killed. The next day I get a letter and 90 gold. Apparently from her. I just found it funny.

So......Arondil..................................ya.......... We got, rape (since they were under his thrall so he forced them against their will), necrophilia, necromancy, and murder for the sake of necromancy and necrophiliac rape. The only way this could be any more !@#$ed up is if they were undead
children
. Holy crap this quest was dark, Bethesda has balls, I like it.
Haha! Arondil was hilarious! Sick and twisted, but hilarious. He gave me a little bit of trouble taking down (but I typically have problems with casters anyway), but it was worth it just to stare and blink at the screen in a disturbed fashion. Bethesda does indeed have balls, 'course it's a shame that they have to have them to put that in the game. Compared to what it COULD have been (and I'm comparing it to a certain European game which featured Sex Cards) it could have been much, MUCH worse.
