Sold- go to skyrim nexus and look at the textures people have made for this game. You can download them for free if you get the PC version after you return the game.

Did you check official forums, or X-box specific forums or anything? If it was the update, a lot of people should have the same issue. If not, the it might just be that your game is messed up and scratched.

So Rank, I was playing through Fallout again earlier and I was thinking, you think its possible that the Courier and the Lone Wanderer from F3 might be the same person?
At first, there's nothing to indicate why its impossible. No info at all is ever given about the courier, so its fully plausible that after his/her adventures on the capital wasteland the courier traveled to the mojave wasteland.
but then the Lonesome Road addon was released, revealing quite a lot of info about the courier's past, making it somewhat imposible for him/her to be the Lone Wanderer. I suppose it could still be possible if the courier was someone old. But there's no way in hell that you could had been through the events of Fallout 3, then the background events revealed on the lonesome road, then the new vegas events without at least being 50 years old or higher.
Its still plausible because (as far as I know) there is no exact date on how long has it been since Fallout 3 to New Vegas. Hell, both could had happened at the same time. But the background revealed on the Lonesome Road is explicitely mentioned as having happened almost a decade ago, if not longer.

Theres a a four year difference, and the Lone Wanderer was a teenager at the time of Fallout 3.
What kind of backround is released in Lonesome Road? I still havnt played the New Vegas DLC. I just figured it would be plausable because as far as I know New Vegas was the first game that takes place in the same generation as its previous game. And the Couriers also the first protagonist whos origins werent revealed.

well, its a big spoiler, so here come the tags.
For a more detailed non "TL;DR" version, here's 2 links that can enlighten the situation: (spoilers inside)
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Courier
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Divide
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Hopeville
(This one is a must-read if you wanna get the basic details)
The TL;DR version is:
That the courier funded a comunity in a town called "Hopeville" and led it for some time, eventually the NCR and the Legion took interest in the region due to its old world nuclear misiles stockpiles on the nearby town of Ashton. The courier inadvertedly destroyed Hopeville by making a delivery for the NCR. Long story short, this delivery ended up detonating the entire nuclear reserve in the area, turning the entire region into the Divide. This all happened several years ago, so its unlikely (though maybe not impossible) that the courier is the lone wanderer
Who was the courier before doing what I just said on the spoilerbox isn't revealed, so it "could" be possible that after the events on Fallout 3 happened, the events on the divide happened, and then the events of new vegas happened.
But 4 years seems like too little time for either. Its implied in dialog (though not directly stated) that the tragedy that caused the Divide happened a long time ago. 4 years doesn't seem like enough time.
Also, according to Ulysses (This is the main antagonist of the Lonesome Road) the Courier has been to Circle Junction, New Reno, Vault City, Fort Abandon, and on brahmin drives at the Big Circle. That seems like A HELL of a lot of places to visit in 4 years along with everything that happened in Hopeville that led to the Divide.
IF the gap between Fallout 3 and New Vegas was of...... say 15 years, then it could be plausible, if the courier was at least 40 or 50 years old. But 4 years? that's kinda a stretch. Specially in a place where there's no cars.

Okay so now that I'm all settled in, anyone know any good addons for Skyrim (especially graphical ones). I wanna see how amazing I can make this look.

@Rank
List of Skyrim Mods- I don't have my computer this week, so this is from memory, and may be incomplete:
Apachii Sky Hair
- Best one in the game, for both men and women
CBBE (Caliente's something or other)
with the official face pack- much better face textures and graphics, and most armor mods are made to fit this rather than the vanilla form. However, the body is a nude model (or maybe they added one in underwear now- I haven't updated in a while), so all the females in the game will be naked when you loot the armor off of them. Your call- modesty or fashion. They have tattoo mods for this too, so you can pick from a wide variety if you want tattoos on a female toon (which will then also be on every female in the game- lol).
I also use mods for a much larger selection or eye and hair colors, but I forget the names. Should be easy to find by searching nexus. I also modded the beast races to be less scrawny- the argonians and the Kajit- because I thought they looked a little pathetic.
There are also mods for much better male faces/models, with the same caveat about modesty as the female one, but they're a lot less necessary for modded armor because most modded armor fits the vanilla models for males. I don't even know which one it is that I have, because I couldn't find one just by using the normal search function in nexus, and I got a link to it on a forum or in another mod description, or something like that.
For armor (for a female) I recommend the
Ritter armor
, with the
Royal Retexture
mod added after to make it the red version. The
Eisen armor
is nice too- they're craftable non-replacers which actually look like armor, and not like lingerie. I would also recommend downloading the
Black Sacrament or Black Tower
or whatever it's called- very nice mod which adds a new location, mercs, new armor styles and a vendor with goodies. Very nice armor models there, but again there's a small amount of totally avoidable adult content in that mod.
I would recommend
Faster Vanilla Horses, Unkillable Horses
and
Oblivious Horses
(not sure if the names are exact) if you plan on using a mount- I find horses tedious in this game, but it may be that the mounted combat they added with dawnguard will help.
Definitely get the
Universal Follower Overhaul
- lets you have more than one follower, lets you keep them fron re-eqipping starting gear that isn't as good, lets you level them so they don't get outdated as you level, lets you see their stats, etc.. And for some unique followers I liked
MOAR followers
, though only for like two of them. I have a few more I haven't tried yet, because I haven't run into them, so I'll let you know how they work.
I also get
Deus Mons
as a house mod- such a great house.
I use
Invested Magic
(or something like that- the Invested part is right) to make alteration spells and candlelight more usable for my dual-wielding character, since switching to a spell is bugged and won't let you quick switch back to two weapons. It makes them much more useful, without making them free.
I use
Cloaks of Skyrim
, some Earring Mod, a mod that lets you craft invisible versions of helmets, and a mod that lets you craft circlets with armor values.
I downloaded mods that fixes the bug in quest to rescue the Grey-mane's son- Torvald, or something- so that the option for the peaceful solution actually works. I downloaded a mod that lets you make a definitive choice in the Parthunaxx situation, rather than leave it hanging. I have a mod that lets you pass off a different Dibella statue, if you find one, instead of stealing the one in the temple.
Most of the ones I forget the names for you can just search the key terms in nexus for. I am sure I have more mods than this, but I can't think of many. They'd be mostly cosmetic, though.
EDIT: Also, if there is an NPC that you really, really, really, REALLY cannot do without as a follower, I do know a trick for you to get almost any NPC as a follower, but it's kind of convoluted and you'll have to e-mail me for it. I ran across the suggestion when I was looking for a mod to make Hadvar a follower (which almost no one seems to be able to code, despite the demand for it), and it's not a topic for wowhead- lol.
Here is what I told Rank when he asked for mods. Since then, I have added the Guard dialogue overhaul, which fixes the bugs where they don't use the appropriate dialogue for your station, and the Marsh Armor, which is a great armor skin for an Orc or an Argonian male, IMO.
The Mod for the peaceful solution for releasing the prisoner from the Thalmar was a bust, because as soon as the mission was over, the whole fort attacked me anyway.

I still can't wrap my head around WHY ON EARTH would you want a peaceful solution to that. THALMOR ARE EVIL! they kidnap people for excercising their right of freedom of religion AND KILL THEM. They are the closest thing you're getting to Nazi Elves. They're so evil even the empire agrees that they are evil to the core.
Regardless of which side you take (Imperial or stormcloak), by every thalmor you kill, you are helping tamriel be a better place.

I agree- and I do kill a lot of the Thalmar. But, I was roleplaying an imperial soldier (with Hadvar in tow) so I had to at least try and do it officially. Once I got attacked, though, I went back in and cleared out the base anyway. No witnesses :P

yay new copy :D, gonna go female dark elf this time for a change, I was male nord last time. Dark elves sound like the most interesting based on the tiny little description.

Mmmhmm, all Thalmor
are kill on sight for me
, even if they're not hostile. On my old file I'd keep going back to Thalmor embassy just to kill the Thalmor guards outside if they respawned.
/high-five.
Same here. I have only one name for the Thalmor: Targets.
I see one, he or she is dead. No exceptions, no negotiation.

Just to make it clear not all high elves are part of the nazi elves so keep that in mine before you kill the nice ones.
Also playing Oblivion thieves guild so far is great, working a bit on the mage's guild to do some enchanting. If I remember right you also told me to do dark brotherhood, where do you start that?

Tbh besides the Talos thing i dont really see anything the Thalmore are doing thats much worse than what the Empire di dwhen they conqured the Evlen nations. And yet we all still hate them lol.

I did said Thalmor, not High Elf. If I see a regular High Elf, nothing bad happens. I see them in justicar Armor/Robe, and they're a goner.
For example, one of the students at the college of winterhold is a high elf, and she's not a thalmor, so she's ok in my book.
Also playing Oblivion thieves guild so far is great, working a bit on the mage's guild to do some enchanting.
Yep, the Thieves Guild quest in oblivion is truly awesome. Mage's Guild was a bit disappointing. Mainly because the last boss there, was also a boss in Daggerfall, and while on Daggerfall he was mindbogglingly hard, here, he's a whimp.
If I remember right you also told me to do dark brotherhood, where do you start that?
Yes I did, and here's how to start it: Kill someone.
No, really, that's all you gotta do, kill an innocent person. It has to be an innocent, it can't be a thug, or a bandit, or even someone who attacked you first, you must deal the first blow and kill someone who did absolutely nothing to you. A good target for this is the grand champion of the Imperial Arena. He classifies as an innocent, he's not tied to any other quest, and you gotta kill him anyways to become grand champion of the Arena.
Once you've killed an innocent, you will get a message that "From the shadows, someone has watched your dark deed" or something like that. If you get that message, go to any bed and sleep. When you wake up, someone from the dark brotherhood will offer you the initiation quest, you complete that initiation, visit their sanctuary, and voila, "Welcome to the Family".
Little warning here: Unlike skyrim, where the dark brotherhood could almost be qualified as Rogue vigilantes due to 95% of their victims being rapists, murderers, dictators, corrupt officials, ect, on Oblivion, you will be doing some pretty nasty nasty deeds. The quests of the dark brotherhood are undeniably, and unequivocally EEEVIIILLL.
If you have a problem with that, its best to stay away from them (even though they're by far the best quests in the game, and Lucius Lachance is BY FAR the most memorable character on the whole game. So memorable that he's the only one from oblivion to return in skyrim)
Tbh besides the Talos thing i dont really see anything the Thalmore are doing thats much worse than what the Empire di dwhen they conqured the Evlen nations. And yet we all still hate them lol.
ok two things.
1: the talos thing is just the beggining, the long term plans of the thalmor is the complete erradication of all the non-mer races from tamriel, as they believe they will bring forth the end of the world.
2: The empire may have done some horrible things when they conquered the elven nations, but remember who we're talking about here, the original Aldimeri Dominion. That was a clear-cut case of evil-vs-evil. If the gods blessed mankind with their favor, and even allowed a human to become a divine, then clearly they were in the right.

Oh I know. But I think a big part of the Thalmore hate also comes from the fact that we all knew and loved Elder Scrolls lore when the Empire was running the show. Now a new game comes along 200 years later the Empire is out on its ass and a bunch of
Elves
are running the show? I don't think I'm the first one who read that and went
HEEEEEEEELL NO

You arent :P
As much as I hate the empire now (Mainly for playing boot-lickers to a bunch of genocidal bigots) I loved them in the other games. They were one of the very few Empires that counted as the good guys. You don't see that often.
So I also went HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL NO! when I read that the entire empire was but a fidgeting shadow of its former glory. Now run by corrupt politicos and warlords self-proclaimed emperors.
