They've offered me HALF of INFLATION. The other guys in my department have all been given a similar shafting.
It feels like a demotion, but I'm sure there are others worse off. There's word of sackings in other departments before Christmas.

Indeed, be thankful you still have a job. Not to say anything of your value as a worker, but there are too many now without them.
