been wracking my brain on this...tried different kinds of macro set-ups. trying to set up a macro that will make me shadowstep to my mouseover, but if I don't have a mouseover, shadowstep to my current target.
found something along the line of
/cast spell; spell
/target target; mouseover
which didn't work if I tried it on friendly players, so I took the harm part out of it all. it worked on mouseovers but not my actual target
so I tried
/cast spell; spell
/target target; mouseover
I just cant get a macro that will let me shadowstep on friendly and enemy targets, whether my current target or mouseover. there's always something blocking all of it to work and only partially working
is it even possible to make it work the way I want it to work? any help would be appreciated :)
EDIT: I guess this works lol
so simple I thought it wouldn't work...not sure how to delete a post so just ignore it
/cast Shadowstep
/cast Shadowstep

If you want a one-liner that avoids error messages when you have a mouseover that's a non-hostile NPC, this should work:
#showtooltip
/cast
This attempts to cast Shadowstep, in order until one fits, on:
a) a hostile/attackable mouseover target, if it exists (the latter is implied by
harm
, no need for
exists
)
b) a friendly mouseover target, if it exists (again implied by
help
, which is true for all friendly players and NPCs that can be targetted with buffs)
c) your current target -
(open bracket, close bracket) is just a fallback to the default behavior of the spell, as if it wasn't used via a macro

That does not work if the enemy isn't hostile. Like for example in Oribos or safezone in Zereth Mortis
