I always find that names that are on obscure levels of huge geek lores are pretty cool, i.e. if you're into Star Trek naming a character Spock is kind of lame, but Sarek (Spock's dad) would be kind of cool, if you're into Star Wars naming a character Anakin would be kind of lame but Jacen (one of the new kids, I don't know much about Star Wars extended stuff) would be kind of cool, and like my big geek thing would be lord of the rings, so Gandalf, Legolas stuff like that's lame but my death knight is named Malvegil (some random king of Arnor).

I also would suggest doing a google search for name generators if you are coming up blank when trying to come up with a name.
There are some really good ones out there than can come up with very interesting names. :)

If you decide to name your toon an actual word, try to spell it right. Also, I try not to group with paladins whose name ends with -adin. Maybe that's just me.

For my charecter I found a random name that wow gave me and I added an "a"
But I always find it interesting what "translation" sites will give you from your real name.
80% of names cannot be translated but they make those sites anyway.
ie: Brett = Nakamura in Japenese which means Leader of Village.
Nakamura = better sounding that brett ^.^,
But, ret pally.... Retamasu?
