Yeah... i get as much mana back from Divine Plea as I do Illumination in a typical dungeon run and usually only use Divine plea about 1/4 of the time that I could. Int has been my primary concern to get my mana pool up to 25k buffed (currently its 22k in a 5 man). I also prefer haste over crit for group healing. SP usually takes care of itself but I do enchant for it and gem for it and INT.
At 21k mana using divine plea every cooldown was worth almost 438mp5 which was a lot more than Illumination.
As to the cloth shoulders vs. the plate ones... the cloth have much better healing stats IMO.

and yeah i know spirit is useless.
It depends, but usually sp > crit. The cloth shoulders are better, however I only wear Mail/Plate, I dislike going lower.
