[Suggestion] A policy against mods insulting visitors.

First off, I love Wowhead and it's part of my daily routine. I understand that the comments can get rowdy on certain articles and locking them is sometimes the right move. For the most part I find this site very professional.
But would you please consider a policy of not allowing mods to take jabs at the visitors?
For example: "Locking this thread, since most folks can't figure out how to act like civilized adults."
Voicing an opinion that differs from your own does not qualify as being uncivilized. And most means a majority. A majority of the people commenting on that article were not being cruel to one another. To me the mod's comment comes across as being spiteful that a majority of visitors held an opposing opinion to their own.
Hope you see some value in this suggestion. Please don't hate me. xD

At least half of the comments in that thread were deleted, or modified, due to personal attacks, abuse, sexism, etc. You don't see everything that is handled, which is kind of the point. I think the message left on the locked thread was appropriate, the reason it was locked was because most (or perhaps just many) of the contributors weren't behaving as civilized adults. I can assure you no one here minds differing opinions when they're presented in a civilized and constructive way.
However, that does not apply to racism, homophobia and sexism. On those topics we don't allow hateful opinions to remain displayed on the site. This place is meant to be a safe haven for everyone.
Any further suggestions or discussions regarding the moderation activities on this site can be directed to . Thank you!
