[Suggestion] Remove/Revise AH buyout price suggestions.

I know that these prices are very general and are mostly composed of auctions that probably don't sell (that is, if your miner works anything like the old Thottbot miner) but do have buy out prices which are mined. In my opinion it makes these suggested prices rather... useless, sadly. Could the miner possibly be updated to only reflect items that have actually been purchased at buyout rates by members using the miner to improve it's reliability?
Alternately could a 'sanity check' be implemented into the system to allow items of certain qualities to refresh their sell values as data is mined for them. That is, every 5-10k reports on a white item will generate a new buyout price from that pool of data and discard the older values while an epic item may only require 200 new entries.
The reason I bring this up is because certain rarer items such as epic plans have drastically dropped in price due to market saturation:
Plans: Black Felsteel Bracers
for example advertises a 600g buyout yet they can easily be obtained for half of this price due to lack of demand.
Any improvements to this feature would be good improvements.
As a side note: I also believe this methodology could be used to better the accuracy of drop rates as NPC loot tabes may change from patch to patch resulting in deflated drop rates on seemingly more common items. The drop percentages for items that have been made drastically more common since 2.1 (Essences from elemental NPCs, for example) has yet to be reflected in WoWHead's data.

I agree. While the buyout price feature on here can be useful at times, it really needs work done. Perhaps even add a "Browse by Server" option?

Auction House prices in Wowhead are updated with every data push and are an average of all prices seen on the Auction House on all servers after extreme outlying data points have been removed. Occasionally, we reset the Auction House values to get a better current baseline.
If an item is reflecting a price that seems high on your server, it may be that your server's economy differs significantly from the average economy, at least with regard to the item in question. You should always check your local Auction House before you auction an item to get an idea as to your server's economy.

There's much more happening "behind the scenes" than just all and every AH prices going in the database and averaged on the item's page.
For example, the looter will only grab prices of auctions that actually sell.
We also got a fair few algorithms ignoring incorrect AH data, ignoring extremes, etc etc.
As for the "browse by server" option, that's always an idea. But right now, the focus is on a couple of other features that have been in the works since a while. We're always looking for new ideas and improvements for everything though so keep it coming :)

How do you know which auction actually sells? Do you only store prices on items the Wowhead looter user buys himself?
