Suggestion: Wowhead Daily Quests - maybe something fun?

I'm a forum-whore, lets get that on the table right now ;) - I like to post my ideas. So here goes:
Could Wowhead have a "daily quest" where...maybe you select a random item in the database that doesn't have an image, or doesn't have a comment and just kind of link to it from the main page for a "daily quest"
It wouldn't be the end-all be-all to getting the database filled with pertinent information but it could slowly build more and more data as people could get to the link faster. (Even though "rep" isn't used yet, this could give people a chance to start gaining it by posting in something that doesn't have any information yet.)

Awesome idea, Wowhead database 'quests' with reputation rewards would be very cool and handy.
Possibly users could post their own quests too, like requesting information on the droprate of a new item, or the best strategy for completing a quest.
I think these kinds of things would be a lot of fun and could help flesh out the database.

The "Reputation" bar is just a cool way of looking at your own contributions to the site. We have no intention of providing Wowhead rep rewards at any time in the future. :)

While those would be cool, I don't think the suggestion requires or was implying any sort of reputation rewards. I would be pretty disappointed if this site became some kind of Gaia Online with money and items and all sorts of things.
I think that the "worthless" reputation itself if reward enough for completing a "quest", as it symbolizes, like you said, a way of looking at your own contributions to the site, since the quest is a form of contribution.
Simple Version: Wowhead or users make quests. Users do quests and contribute. Users gain reputation. Reputation causes inner pride and outside respect.

We definitely encourage users to take pride in their contribution to the site, whether it be via Wowhead Contests or simply posting useful comments and screenshots. We are always looking for new ideas to encourage positive contributions to the site and we will certainly take your idea under advisement. Our last contest encouraged users to capture screenshots of items in the game that did not have screenshots, and this sort of contest seems to have a lot in common with your suggestion.
However, we are also sensitive to creating a community that doesn't encourage spam as a way to try to win contests. One of the compliments we constantly hear about Wowhead is that it lacks the spam of other sites. We would like to maintain this sort of community, and we appreciate your patience as we juggle this desire with the desire for more features & contests.

My suggestion actually purposely left out the idea of rewards of any type. I'm actually suggesting that NO reward given except for a little "rep gain", nothing more.

Amen to that. It is, I think, our nature to do so, though. Otherwise, why would we be playing a game in which the central mechanic is grinding
