Suggestions: More mob info, (Easier things to implement)
Return to board index
I know some of my suggestions may not be do-able as I'm familiar with LUA code, but I'd like to suggest them anyhow. I would like wowhead to categorize mobs with a few additional options (SOME of them should be relatively easy)
Mob est attack speed (This is the hard one)
Mob Calls for Help?
Mob performs special ability? (Be able to supply what that special ability may be...certain mobs stun or have sunder armor, maybe group an option to ask if mob stuns, casts, applies debuff)
Mob est armor? (This is done in mods already but only able to be done on certain classes which have flat-damage attacks)
And one - last - request:
Mob Density. This one would be a lot trickier than the rest, but could give a good approximation to how close mobs are to one another in an effort to help people find unique spots to AoE grind.
It's very possible to pull this information from ingame using a bunch of debug tools at I think wowdev.org but adding this information to Wowhead might be a little more difficult, where would it be displayed and how needed is it?
These suggestions are for the NPC search page. - Take a look at ANY search page you generally use. - You generally use it because there is a LOT of data there.
Now go look at the NPC database. Check how many options your allowed to search from - Not too incredibly useful is it if your looking for places to grind.
Mob running wouldn't be an issue, same with mob calling for help - those 2 items should be amazingly easy to add to the database.
Mob performs special ability - that one, a little tricky.
Mob Density - Already calculatable - We have mob coordinates in the system already, this isn't exactly needed now that I think of it. Looking at the map should provide plenty of density info.
Est Armor - Easy to add, but only certain player classes would be able to get the data. Useful for players looking for clothies, or casters looking for people that may be well armored, but lower hp.
Est Attack speed - A tricky one, but a LOT of paladins AoE grind now. The faster the hitter, the better - would be useful to search based on attack speeds. This is also the problem with implementation - multiple mobs could skew results, however shouldn't be too hard to determine whats proper data and whats not. Nothing should have a higher than 1.0 attack speed, if it does, there are multiples, exclude data.
Unique? Yes/No - Allow us to search for mobs who aren't unique to an area. That way we can exclude NPCs where only 1-5 exist. (that one may be tricky too)
List the kill-count for the NPC's on the NPC Search page.
