You do realise you just compaired a Mara item to a SP item right? There's ~20 levels in that...

IMO, the best item you can nab up, if you got cash (which I think you do since +30 spell is not cheap) is the Flurry Axe. This lil epic 1H axe is fast, and has built in WF.

There are other options, some non-epic. But since your in mara, and Flurry is about your level, it just kinda makes sence.

I used this myself. I put lifesteal on it, but honestly it wont matter becasue any enchant is better then no enchant.

euhm mara is more like end 40's. and you're comparing a lvl 42 epic with a lvl 48 blue....
None of them has natural spelldmg but the fist hits harder then the flurry axe and it's special has at least a use for a prot paladin. Flurry axe sucks at lvl 48-50.

Don't be purple blind in this case.

I would just stick with current one you, also coz you did the effort of enchanting it and then switch to one of the green spellblades once you hit outland. If you get luckythen , pick up de spellfire blade from sp or the mace from underbog.

There is no "purple blindness".
Both do the same DPS, which yeah fist might hit harder, but in a 60 sec. timer both should come out the same (since flurry atks more often).

Also, flurry will proc often. I know, I used it. I actually used it clear into 60 when I got the axe from thrallmar.

And mana shouldn't be a concern anywho. Either BoW, SoW or heals from your healer (since your prot).

But that's IMO. I'd rather hit 1 more time, then get 50 mana. And flurry can proc off itself too.

Yeah I know it made it fast.

And if he's tanking, that +30 outside of judging SoC is probably all the +spell he's got. And really it's not helping all that much. I'm not sure what amount of +spell actually dumps into SoR and Con. but it's probably not really enough to worry about it.

And depending on the server and if he had the mats or not the +30 spell dmg probably costed more then the Flurry axe would have in the first place.

Switching to axe will increase his DPS/TPS, which will cut down how long it takes him to level. If nothing else, just put a weapon chain on it.
