I've noticed prot paladins take a $%^&load more damage than other tanks...
No idea why.
But, I'd suggest that your healer just needs to be on his toes... 540 def 20k hp, you should be fine.

Maybe the tanks he is used to are much better geared? All the healers I have ever run with said I don't take nearly as much damage as a lot of other tanks do.

I'm not sure if it's a glitch on my side or the website but you have an interesting setup for
your talent tree.
One thing I'll mention is you should fill out the rest of Ardent Defender. I can't count how many times that talent had saved me from wiping. Granted, I'm only doing Heroics right now so once I get into the raiding scene I'm probably going to change my spec again.
