Seems like, if DPS was so uber(compared to tanking and healing), you'd see more(or ANY) 5-mans set up with 5 DPSers. If you went at it without a tank or healer, nobody could complain about the poor performance of the tank or the healer. ;)

When my paladin was holy, i always got thanked for my good healing, that made me want to join more runs. I get no thanks for my tanking these days and people just DPS like they were gonna die tomorrow.
I'm now geared enough for raiding thankfully so no more heroics for me!

I play a Holy Priest. I have healed throughout the whole game (even while I was Shadow spec'd).
More often that not, if the group wipes, it's the DPS' fault. Sometimes an under geared tank will be the problem, because they can't take the beating, so I heal them to keep them alive, which gets me more aggro than them, and I get 1-2 shotted and the group wipes. Most of the time what happens is that DPS takes damage, either because they pulled aggro or because they can't manage to avoid AoE type attacks, and I proceed to heal the DPS, at which point the tank gets hit with a sudden burst of damage I wasn't able to deal with (stop-casting FTW!), and the tank dies and the group wipes. One could argue I am a bad healer for not keeping the tank alive at all costs, but the problem with letting the DPS die to keep the tank alive is that if the tank is taking enough damage to need my constant stop-casting, I'm going to run out of mana sooner than later, and we will wipe regardless. I try to keep all of my party alive, and keep them from the brink of death, but it's not always possible, and I'm going to take abuse either way.
Being a healer sucks, but it's certainly the most fun thing I can do in WoW, although I haven't leveled a Paladin, Warrior or Druid high enough to really get a chance to tank. But why would I want to? Their lives are worse than a healers. Trying to get geared enough to be able to heal heroics/Kara is hard. Being Holy means I can't do damage, so I've practically given up soloing or questing because it's near impossible. I can't imagine being a tank, which appears to be even worse than being a healer.
Also, I will admit to very strongly hating Fury spec'd Warriors. They are the biggest waste of a class or spec in the entire game. I understand why people play them, kind of. I've heard it is because leveling as a tank is hard or slow, and not very much fun. Fair enough, I did level from 10-61 as a Shadow Priest. But I healed nearly every instance that I did. I would only be in Shadow Form to DPS when there was a Holy/Healing spec'd person that wanted to heal. But Fury Warriors take the most powerful and best tanking class in the game and turn them into a worthless "wanna-be" Rogue.
Rogues provide CC, significant damage and aggro reduction abilities, in addition to out of combat lock picking. Fury Warriors have no advantage over a Rogue, or any other DPS class.

"I hate how people just bash on us tanks."
Hey, just keep holding that aggro. ;)

I am the tank I have lead u wait till I have enough threat before u attack. You pull agro I help u 2 times the 3rd time u are tanking.
That works wonders for me aswell, someone pulls aggro or attacks the wrong target and pulls it off me I'll grab it back a few times.. After that it's "you pull it you tank it". If they don't learn after a few pulls then I replace them, dps is easy to come by. My ignore list gets crowded fast aswell, these days you just can't have much tolerance for incompetent or ignorant people.

Pre BC warriors knew there job and knew that no matter what spec all they had to do was slap on a sword and board and could hold agro on any boss, Since BC came out they have seen to forget that. OOH I AM A WARRIOR RAWR!! I CAN DPS LIKE A ROGUE RAWR!!!! Come on for normal 5 mans Ur a warrior slap on that sword and board and ur tanking gear and jump on that boss, for heroics and end game ur prot or watching the rest of the guild progress while u sit back and PVP.
Warriors now days have forgotten who they are and what they are built for
Well guess what happened with TBC. DPS classes got their DPS increased far more than tank threat was increased (example: the highest rank of sunder armor pre-TBC produced 261 bonus threat, while the highest rank at TBC launch produced 301 bonus threat, an increase of just 15%). This has made tanking more difficult, or rather, more dependent on the DPSers to actually have a brain. Heck, before TBC I could even use battle shout and demoralizing shout as situational threat tools. Now I can go in with a full rage bar, Shield Slam and Heroic Strike a mob which then immediately runs off to pound on <insert random DPS class here> who did z0mg l33t crits.
Adding in the fact that TBC also increased the general difficulty of trash packs, it just means a hell of a lot more grief for tanks. And many of the DPSers, especially those that really just want a couple items before they go PvP, proceed to blame the tank when they mess things up.
