Flask of mighty resto >> Draenic Wisdom

No. An elixir of draenic wisdom gives you MORE mp5 than the flask, plus some extra healing too from the spirit. Then, you can use an elixir of healing power too to really make elixirs more valuable.

does instant cast interrupt the 5 sec regen? or it doesn't effect the 5 sec mana regen because it is an instant cast?
Since the trigger is spending mana on a spell, it does trigger the 5SR. Unless it does not cost mana, that is. ;-)

Using combinations of individual elixirs will usually be more powerful than using a single flask, but they don't persist through death. I try to conserve mats where I can. :-)

Normally, your mana regeneration will be 100% when not casting, and 0% when inside the 5SR. Meditation merely changes this so you have 30% regen when inside the 5SR; regen when you're not casting is not affected at all.
Remember that this is talking about mana regen based on your combination of intellect and spirit.
Mana Regen = 5 * sqrt(Int) * Spirit * Base_Regen

Small update to reflect the increased emphasis of critical strike chance in the realm of mana regeneration for priests. The change to
Holy Concentration
and the addition of
Improved Holy Concentration
to be specific.
Synergy with
Serendipity
has been pointed out.
Have fun healing! =)

I just recently noticed that I do not know what happens if you get to trigger
Serendipity
while you are under the effect of a clearcasting.
Does the talent use the effective mana cost of the spell (zero, since you are clearcasting) or the regular one?
Anyone? =)

Ok, after some research I found a
priest healing thread
over on elitistjerks.com that seemed to know the answer:
constantius @ elitistjerks.com
Since Serendipity cannot proc off IHC heals (unfortunately nerfed), our mana return from these 1.3 free casts can be maximized by using it on Greater Heal, which gives us a mana savings of ~ 1054.
So, it seems that
Serendipity
will not proc while
Improved Holy Concentration
is active.
However, I'm still not sure if this is also true for
Inner Focus
. Not that it would matter that much... ;-)

With the upcoming changes (Patch 3.1) to clearcasting procs and the general overhaul done to mana regeneration, this thread will lose most of it's relevance.
If all these changes will go live, we may dance one last time with our dear 5SR and then wave her goodbye to no longer linger on the past, but to gaze into a new and different future... ;-P
Let's see... ^^

True, meditation goes from 30% total mana regen inside the 5s rule, to 50% in patch 3.1. While this still hurts somewhat while casting, it's not nearly as bad. Also, it's worthy to note that for spriests spending points in spirit tap/improved spirit tap, it's possible to have a total of 166% mana regen when inside this 5s rule (very unlikely and it won't last very long).

Since loosing mana is a bad thing...
Um. Fail. I think if you are "loosing" mana, then you'd be casting more, no? Maybe I'm just crazy, but I think that "losing" mana from the 5SR might be more of a bad thing than letting it loose through spells...
Just my two cents.

Im pretty sure you can't exceed 100% of your outside-the-5-second-rule regeneration. ;-)

Would be nice if you could though :p.
