Stop asking Light, I'm not posting there till I feel like it. And even if I did, wouldn't affect any of your characters; Kali was off hunting something, The Graven one and Kor were fixing up the second hideout, Zala was being hunted by Miri, Miranda/Lupe, Whitemoon, Alita, and Tae'sash were talking about the ruins, and Morgan was off looking for a few people who knew something about Kali.

I just don't feel like RP'ing at the moment. I'm still here on the boards.

I don't mass dispel.
I life grip people out of the fire.
My support is different.

It has been a very long time since I have written any fan fiction for anything, but The Killing Games has somehow relit the creative pilot light and it has me stoked to get back into it.
Is it an open story? Can I join in wherever? Currently working on character development off-site right now... it's something very in-line with Warcraft lore but rarely done by fans. I think it'd be interesting to inject it in the currently evolving story!

Not a story, it's an Roleplay. You create a character and interact with others going through it.

Well, you answered my question anyway.
Are there any particular guidelines I need to follow for this one? What would be unreasonable?

The Roleplaying section
, and read the first post of the RP to figure out the setting. From there, go for it, and if you have any other questions, that's what the Q&A's are for. Welcome to the boards.

Okay, I don't want to discourage you from roleplaying, and I'm glad to see a new face on the boards, but let me give you a piece of friendly advice.
While no one can actually ban you for roleplaying dragons, as a rule of thumb characters of such power are frowned upon, seeing as their magnitude makes them boring to interact with - in your particular case, should Ihtraelsrasz choose to protect Nova and her companions, it will remove any challenge for them, and thus make them much less interesting to roleplay. Before it is too late, I humbly suggest you retcon your character into one of the Dragonsworn - that way, while still associated with the Red Dragonflight, Ithrael will be of much more reasonable power.
And another thing - I think that Alexstrasza will not meddle with the mortal affairs so directly, for as yet there is no evidence that a nefarious force behind the Game is something for the Aspect of Life to be concerned of. HOWEVER, one of her servants's decision to investigate is probable, if only to prove that a great evil is working here - and bring the said proof to her.
Lastly, only Nova Terra is in the game, while Rhey and Alexander accompany her to protect her.
Welcome to the boards.

It's early morning morning... morning.
Very early morning.
Oh I seem to remember another RP I made when people were RPing dragons everywhere! Everywhere. Quite strange really, I seemed to be the only person without a dragon. But that was okay.
I don't mind dragons. <3 (except when they're uber I kill ju one shot rawr) *Huggles dragon plushie*

Dragons can be RP'ed, you just have to do it carefully; I had Torphaz in Tales of Northrend. In an RP like this, it's probably best to keep it in mortal form instead of the true form.
And yeah....the Dragon rp was interesting lol.

I highly value everyone's input, and I appreciate the assistance and advice. I have followed Warcraft lore since the very beginning, and I'm most certainly going to try my best to keep things as fair and as interesting as possible. In fact, it's why I chose to make my first character a true dragon instead of a "lesser" creature or hero.
The disparity in power and ability between Ithraelstrasz and his new traveling companions has immense potential to deliver some powerfully intriguing story, especially if we approach the situations in a realistic manner. Even a dragon, albeit a rather young one (the Second War was not so long ago), cannot be in all places at once, and cannot combat a great number of enemies without support. This isn't an Aspect we're talking about and those familiar with the lore know that, while powerful, dragons are not god-creatures. As a member of the Red dragonflight, Ithraelstrasz has a great many enemies in the world of Azeroth - perhaps many more than even a participant of the Killing Game would have - and they present many opportunities for this young dragon to be placed into positions where he is not an uber-killing-machine. It's all about scale, placement, and timing.
There are limits, and I will make every effort to play within them, but I have read far too many roleplay and fan-fictions that were solely comprised of equal-level, equal-capability participants that it just turned into a boring drama. The fights were undramatic, and there was never a sense of awe, or accomplishment, or real adventure. While this is mostly reliant on the writing skill of those contributing, it has a lot to do with character selection as well..
That, and I *$%$%^W# love dragons. :P

I thought with a title of "The Killing Games" that people would actually want to roleplay some action. Instead, it's more like a "day in the life of several overly average people."
Is this how you roleplay here?

And a lot of RPs are like that, you can't really get to the action without having some background first. :/ - And yes, that's how we do things here. Character personalities > random action. When I want some random action I go in-game where I get a barfight every night :P

At times yes heh.

Introducing a character which initiates another layer of storyline is not "random action." Unrealistically shutting out every opportunity to progress the story in a more exciting direction is frustrating - why do that?
Doesn't make much sense for me. I can understand the actions of the 18 year old boy, seeing as the real person behind him is also an 18 year old boy, and it really comes down to epeen nonsense - but the rest of the characters, why write them as so reluctant to actually do something about their situation?
I think even the most naive of characters would understand, after even being told so by another character, that the "killing game" has some very highly placed individuals in it. It'd be foolish to think that you can merely go into hiding indefinitely, and a run-away story isn't exciting at all. This is World of WARcraft, not World of Wimpcraft.

Now
hold on a second
! Is a several hundred years old dragon actually flirting with a teenager?
*shudder*
Post by
Whiskey87
Nope, but I would expect an 18 year old to see it that way. In the lore, Reds are the protectors and binders of all life. My character's warm attitude towards ALL the other characters so far is more of a paternal, protective love at a magnitude that only a guardian of life can possess.
I refuse to give up hope on you folks, you're all such good writers!
