I went with UD...I like Cannibalize and WoTF plus imo UD make the coolest looking rogues...also went Gnomish eng ( mainly for the death ray) and mining...cant wait til WoTLK to get my motorcycle :D

Dwarf. I did a /who dwarf rogue on Jubei'Thos-Alliance and noticed there was only (literally) about 15 online. Did a /who for gnome rogues, and there was the max /who limit of 49. So I rolled Dwarf. We're the cooler short race anyway.

Human Rogue vs. <Insert Race Here> Rogue
Assuming equal skill, Perception will not win this fight. Why? Because for equal skill to be equal, the Rogue facing the Human needs to be able to counter perception, whether it be simply waiting it out, pre- vanishing, distract > ShS > Sap, etc. If he loses to Perception, he is not equally equipped to fight Human Rogues, and his skill is therefore not equal to his opponent.
This is a terrible analogy. You take 2 equal people and give one a distinct advantage against the other then the one with the advantage will over the course of many fights win. This reason is why Perception has been entirely nerfed.
As others have said you have counters on both sides which in the end leads to perception being a huge advantage in gaining the opener. The boxing glove analogy is much better, but even better would be one boxer blindfolded.
I went human for perception for arena play since it is the strongest arena racial on alliance side. Human rogues look cool as well.
