Cause it would be cool for an elem shammy to turn their shield into a lightning charged boomerang of death, if pallys can do it so can we

Static Shield
When cast the next offensive spell cast at the shaman charges his/her shield with energy, increasing your next Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, or Lava Burst damage by 20%. Lasts 10 secs.

I really wish we could use some abilities with our shields. We're the only class that has no shield talents or abilities. I love being able to use shields, and its definitely a nice extra piece of armor, but it seems like such a waste.
Resto is healer. No reason to use shield at all. You can use offhand too. The gain is armor.
Ele is ranged caster dps. No logical reason to use shield. Offhand is fine, shield gives more armor.
Enh is melee dps. Equipping shield over a weapon is counter intuitive.
Similar to this:
Ret/Holy paladins dont have shield skills either.

Prot paladins and warriors use shields because they feel that their faces are too pretty to stop attacks with them.
