Threat Issues on Malygos

So as of late, being affliction and all, I've been having difficulty keeping threat low on Malygos.
I am stuck using Soul Shatter at ~300k threat, just so I can let our tank get a larger lead in aggro, however, I still manage to catch back up after just one vortex. Starting off, I still have to wait a couple seconds before I can even begin attacking.
Am I the only one having this problem?

Sadly theres no real answer to this.... Thanks largely to the demonic circle trick I pull roughly 150% the damage of the next highest in raid on maly and theres really no way the tank can keep up thanks to all his downtime in the vortex.
We have tried maneuvering maly so that the tank can stand in some parky goodness, and it does help, but given I'm the only one with threat issues we've canned that idea as being simply not worth the effort.
I just have to back off.... no two ways about it.
edit - Because I always run with a pally tank I have had him use Hand of salvation on me a bit, which makes all the differnce in the world..... but given how much the tank has top think about ona fight like this he simply doesnt always have the time and brain space to use it on me :)

Explain the Demonic Circle Trick...please...
Drop a circle in the middle of the platform (near the starting thing) and when he uses vortex, you can port down and still dps.

Just a quick note on the demonic circle trick, don't lay it when standing in the middle. Lay it at least 5 yards out from the middle, facing in. That way when you port, it leaves you facing maly, and able to spank immediately.
I set my port in the middle to start with, and because you can't see him (up in the air) its bloody hard to work out which way you need to face, you're sitting right beneath him and its hard to get it right :)

For recent runs, I've been waiting 30seconds for our tank to get aggro, etc.
And it's just frustrating :(.
I wish I could go all out like all those mages :/..

Okay, there is seriously something wrong here.
I had to have vigilance on me, wait 30 seconds for tank to get threat, pause dps like seven times, have hand of salvation used on me twice, and I still got to 95%. Noone else got above 70%.
Something is F-ed up. I'm reduced to not doing dps when I port down because the tank can't keep up with my threat. Shame, my dps was at like 4k with all the sparks, and It ended with like 2.5 before drakes.

It is normal, our warrior spec 37/0/34(Single target threat build), I still need to Soul Shatter and 3 pally chain hand of salv me after we get off the vortex.

Ok i didn't read all of the above post so this might already be there but this is what I do...
I already understand that my threat will be high on this boss, and myself and MT both know this... So that he'll be comfortable with it, what I do I literally setting below the MT in threat about 5k TPS or less... Usually without pulling aggro I will out TPS the tank but only by 1k or less and I hold aggro around that 5k TPS under or 1K TPS over and your safe...
For the first vortex, don't use soul shatter here, if you have to stop casting altogether do it, and when you demonic circle out of this circle let your threat settle... And don't attack the boss for a solid 3 secs after he lands.
When 2nd vortex happens, demonic circle out of it and do as much damage as possible, even pull aggro off the tank do whatever you can (stand in the sparks as well). And time it just right when he ends vortex soul shatter, this should be your only time using soul shatter for the rest of the fight and puts you in 5th on omen (phase 2 are surfers, phase 3 isn't really about threat).
Usually on the 3rd vortex we have the boss at about 51%, and at this point I do as much damage as possible because once at 50% he'll lift in the air again and phase 2 begins to starts... By the time phase 2 starts we have him setting at 41%-43%.
It's risky but it will keep your DPS optimal for the most part, and takes a bit of practice and the tank has to know what your doing and that you have everything under control (my guild usually trust me in all raids)
This will work, and this was having a pally tank.
Yeah, I just had a nice time telling the pally to hand of salv me, and the MT innervated me (lowers threat by 10%) everytime he landed from vortex. Other than that, I just had to stop dps a few times, didn't need to soul shatter.
It's just odd that I'm getting threat even though the rogue and hunter who were on the same dps level as I was had no problems with threat.

Weee i know how yall feel. I always run with a pally MT and a war OT, and if its a long fight, i always have issues with threat.
