Time sensitive macros?
Return to board index
Hi, i just wanted to ask if it is still possible ot make a macro reset after X number of seconds. I'm after something that will allow me to macro my dk's Rune Tap onto the same button as Heart Strike and will reset every 30seconds to Rune Tap. Í'd imagine it would be something like:
/castsequence Rune Tap, Heart Strike
Sorry if that makes no sense. I'm still findinf my way with macro coding. It would also be cool if it could be made to swallow error messages
.. just remove the "seconds" and the brackets?/castsequence reset=30 Rune Tap, Heart Strike
Thankyou very much =)
i wasn't even sure it was still possible
If I understand you correctly you want to spam the button and cast Heart Strike for 30s and after that do Rune Tap?
The macro posted above will reset after not being pushed for 30s, or when you reach the end of the macro.
So it will cast Rune tap, cast Heart Strike and then try to cast Rune Tap again.
As for casting Heart Strike for 30s and then another spell, I don't think that's possible.
Castsequences are bad, mmkay. </Mr Mackey>
Effectively what you're wanting to do is Heart Strike if Rune Tap is on cooldown. Macros can't do that.
On a side note, I only use castsequence macros for buffs.
Not entirely true.... You can kind of manage what he wants, but only in a hackish/going to do more harm than good kind of way.
Figure out the number of heartstrikes you can do during the cooldown of rune tap. Then add that many heart strikes to the cast sequence.
In other words:
/castsequence reset=30 Rune Tap, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Heart Strike etc.
I actually did end up with more or less what Wanderignfox suggested. There's usually about a 3-5second gap somewhere in there, but i'll probably be slapping other buttons in that time anyway
