Also make sure that you're using your cooldowns whenever you can (don't use just before you reach a boss though, you need to save them for that).
With longevity and the BW glyph you can use BW almost every pull, assuming you're not rushing through it anyway. That's a huge boost to DPS.
Hit rating is vital, get some asap, even a few gems in your current gear would help. I suggest putting 3 talent points in Focussed Aim for a 3% boost to hit chance, but that won't scale to your pet so replace the talents with gear whenever you can.
As for gear, yeah you need to work on that. Some of it seems to be lvl 70 stuff, and some of it is PvP gear. Obviously suboptimal for lvl 80 PvE.
I suggest earning rep with the various factions in WotLK, most of them ahve some excellent gear you can buy. Such as the Argent Crusade epic chest available at exhalted.
I 2nd the Argent Crusade Chestpiece. Plus it gives you hit rating, if I recall correctly. Also, leatherworkers get some nice buffs for their bracers and legs. And the Giantmaim leggings are pretty decent as well. I would try to go more for CRIT and AGIL than for AP.
