The only thing that makes threat higher per hit is critsCrits don't produce extra threat. For most dps moves (ie all those where there isn't an explicit "high threat component"), 1 dmg = 1 threat.
If it's a crit, it does more threat because it does more damage, but this isn't any different from doing more threat through hitting harder or more often.
You right, my understanding of crit was out of date. Thanks for the unbiased correction.

i think i should add that blizz has plans for making rogues able to sap all targets who got a brain (demons, undead, beast, dragon etc), including hunters

And if you out-dps BM hunters, then they are bad. Given an equal level of gear and skill, a BM hunter will produce better damage than an MM hunter. This is not an opinion, this is a fact, that has been proven repeatedly.

Any MM that beats a BM hunter in equal gear and situation the BM hunter failed. go read EJ, go look at WWS reports, no one cares whats been seen by you, we care what the numbers say. Theres a reason why BM is considered the best for raiding in the current system. Theres a reason wh 99% of all raiding hunters raid BM. Numbers dont lie.
Will BM be tops in the xpac, who knows... no one knows ANYTHING yet other than Wrath will be here on 11/13/08.
What have we heard? well I for one have heard that BM takes a back seat to Survival. Why? Because the change to shot clipping is HUGE. no more clipping means no more looking for a Sweet Spot and being able to use EVERYTHING in your spell book. Also Explosive Shot is just that good.
Again... who knows and who cares. Wait till 11/13/08, better yet... wait till we get at least 1 patch in... then lets have this discussion again.
