Travelling to Vashj'r

Hello,
I've been questing and levelling my way to the Shimmering Expanse at Vashj'ir but I wondered what my travel options are now that I'm here. If I hearthsone back to Stormwind to visit an AH and trainer for example, can I then easily find my way back here to the Shimmering Expanse?
I ask because I arrived at Vashj'ir via a sinking ship storyline, so I guess that that would not repeat when looking for a way back?

At the surface, at least for Horde, there's a flightpath on one of the little islands that take you back inland. I don't remember how far you have to progress in the storyline to activate the city portal.

The destination of the portal to Vashj'ir is connected to your questing progress. It will port you to the 'latest' inn you discovered. If you stop questing at Silver Tide Hollow it will port you nicely to the quartermaster. If you quest the zone throughout you will find yourself travelling 'backward', but that's no biggie with the seahorse.

I've been in about four "safe caverns" in Vashj'r so far so it sounds like if I hearthstone back to SW there should be a portal there for me to get back to somewhere in Vashj'r then.

If all else fails, you can get a water walking potion, go to the surface, and flying mount up and go to this guy on the island. There is also a seahorse nearby in the water that will connect to the other underwater seahorses. Thus, you will have both air and sea connections to and fro.

Don't waste a potion. You can mount a flying mount while swimming, as long as you're on the surface.
