This isn't a rant, more of a topic for discussion.

I decided to get in to PvP, since the exp pack is coming soon and we have cleared the content, I was looking for something to kill time with. I haven't done much PvP since cata launch, so I grabbed the blue PvP gear, made sure to have decent weapons, a few 397 PvE pieces (this is an alt, otherwise, it would be 403-410) to make up for lack of damage etc. So I run about 10 reg BGs, and every time, we are getting slaughtered. I start noticing something. Ally are all geared similar to me. They have the same thing in mind, gearing up. I then look at horde, and they are ALL decked out. They had people in dps PvP specs with 170k+ health. This tells me, they are completely decked out in conquest pieces.

I would chalk it up to some people being bored and wanting to just moderated, I am fine with that, but in all 10 BGs, every single person was decked out in gear.

Why would they do that? I am close to just giving up on PvP at this point, because they are ending up with 200-300% more honor every BG than I get, and I am ranked at the top for honor gained on ally side in some of them. It's not even worth the time and effort. I might as well be running heroics and converting my JP and VP for gear, since it will be faster.

I kind of know what you mean.

I do a lot of PvP and have a full set of conquest gear but sometimes I get into BG’s where you see your allies are way under geared. You can tell by the HP’s straight away.
In those cases I will run 2-3 BG and see what happens, see if the gear levels improve, if it doesn’t then leave it for a few hours. Wait until a new set of players are doing PvP.

Those with poor gear tend to run BG after BG, so you might find that you get a few BG in a row where your team has little hope of victory.
It’s not always the case that the horde are super geared also. I’ve been plenty where they have been just steam rolled.

Don’t give up on PvP it’s really fun part of the game, well it is for me. Try and do some 2v2’s that’s a really fast way of capping out for the week and getting great gear fast.
