First and foremost: Death Knight 4.0.1 Unholy DPS Guide.

Go read that. If you're using Obliterate in Unholy, you're doing it all wrong. Sorry, that's harsh, but absolutely true.

Next, a link to your armory would be nice so we can check talents and gear.

it looks like you haven't adjusted to the new way runes work nowdays.
the guide kamodius kindly linked is a good one. do read it.

in the mean time:
in Wrath of the litchking DK's had runes that worked like this: click an ability that uses runes (blood strike for example) and it will use that rune. as soon as you used it it will start reloading. and will be ready for use after seconds.

they changed that in cataclysm to a new and a bit confusing system.
you now have 3 "sets" of runes, those being: blood runes frost runes and unholy runes.
as soon as you use an ability like bloodstrike it will use a blood rune. it will then begin to reload. if you then use bloodstrike again i will use another blood rune. this rune will not start reloading before the first one is done!

this is a fundamental change and it will make wasting resources a lot harder.
