Vellums go for an exorbitant amount on my server.

10 gold per vellum is the market price but most auctions are way over market price. My question is two fold. How much do single vellums cost on your server and how much does it cost to actually make one? I know many have suggested that I have someone make them for me providing the mats myself. How much should I tip per stack if I do this? I started a DK with the mindset of leveling insc and herb but I've just been lazy. Also I've been reading Greedy Goblin and am wondering if anyone else can verify what he says that inscription really is that big of a profit generator.

Gelvon reached gold cap on what? 2-3+ servers with different kind of economy just with inscription... what other proof do you want?
Also, doesnt matter what price vellum is on our servers. It all depend of the price of material on YOUR server.

The price the auctions of vellums sell for on *your server* IS the "market price."
There is no standard market price across all servers.
I would tip a minimum of 5g per stack, probably closer to ten.
IF I hadn't leveled my own inscription-DK already to have every glyph and recipe currently in game.
Inscription has very high profit potential, but just like EVERY profession, you have to 1. use it and 2. be willing to undercut and work the market.

But do you guys just buy vellums off the AH? What's the best way to go?

I leveled my own inscription alt. It's a nice side profession, it makes good, consistent money, and I can make my own vellums.

There are some choices open to you:
*Get going and level your DK's inscription. It's a bit of a grind, but even just playing a little bit each day it should be way under a week to get to the level of being able to make all vellums. Sell glyphs, sell vellums, undercut the high prices and start raking in gold.
*Suck it up and pay for vellums.
*Find a scribe who can make them, and tip them to make vellums.
Personally, I find option 1 most appealing. You get your vellums and your glyphs, you get gold from selling them and gold from selling enchant scrolls. Win-win-win.
