I think your healing bonus is fine, 1000 is enough for a start, you should be able to cast big heals for about 3000-4000 life points, which is one third of the tank life.
The main problem with your stuff (especially PvP stuff) is that you are missing mana regen (mana per 5s), 72 is just OK for normal long fights. You will be quickly out of mana for long fights or fights with intense heals. You should aim for 100 mana per 5s, this stat is very rare on PvP items.
I have a resto shaman and I have now completed 8 of the BC heroïcs as main or only healer. My stats are 1200 healing bonus and 120 mp5, and I have an alchemist stone to increase mana potion effect.
However, I think you can start going to the easier heroïcs and you will do fine and learn the heroïc mode healing :-)
The main difference for a healer is that the tank will take big hits and you will be almost constantly casting big heals on him, leaving very little time for healing yourself and other members.
For long fights, you should drink a mana potion as soon as you go below 70% of your mana, then drop the mana totem when you hit 70% again, and then wait till you can drink another potion.
Having a shadow priest in your group is fantastic as he will greatly help you for mana regen, and healing other group members, while maintaining DPS.
