Use bloodthirst and whirlwind right off the bat and then worry about buffs and debuffs when those are on cooldown. Only use heroic strike as a rage dump when you have about 50+ rage. I like to use trinkets on elites that take a bit to take down or bosses that I can make use of the added damage instead of just wasting a cooldown due to a knockback. Always remember that bloodthirst and whirlwind are your main attacks to use and to try and maintain enough rage for when they come off of cooldown so they can be used right off the bat instead of waiting a couple of seconds for rage to build up.
My rotation normally looks like: BT>WW>Battleshout>HS between cooldowns>bloodsurge/slam when it procs.
