A while ago Blizzard released a sort of teaser article with a list of things you could do in Mists of Pandaria. While most of the features have already been revealed there is one feature that was mentioned that I still have not seen any information on. Proving Grounds.
The article "A Night in Mists of Pandaria" named amount a lot of things a feature called Proving Grounds. In the article it said. " Proving Grounds. They’re like lored-up solo instances that make trying out my rotations a lot more fun since I can chase achievements."
What happened to them? Is there any information an whether or not they will still include those upon MoP release? Is there any information saying if they will be implemented in a later patch if at all? I personally love the lore of Warcraft and having a mode dedicated to it, while also giving achievements, would be a dream come true.
Any information is better than none, so please let me know if you know anything! Also feel free to post on how you think these Proving Grounds could be a good/bad idea.

I think they got turned into the scenario things. So instead of it being solo it's three people. If scenarios were already announced then I'm afraid it's like the WoW dance studio that got swept under the rug.

My assumption would be that it got placed to the side for now. I believe the Proving Grounds were a way to help improve and train a player in their abilities prior to entering dungeons or raids; which would be nice for new inexperienced players but I imagine the logistics of implementing that would be a bit extreme.

I was looking around and it seems like there is a pseudo proving grounds for the monk class. You teleport in and receive a quest to fight a monk master, each one has a weakness that you use to learn your utility skills.
I wonder if they are testing it out before implementing it for all classes.

Haven't seen anything yet for other classes, and yeah, I remember that initial 'Night in Pandaria' post too :(
The monk quest seems cool.

I'm sure this was seen but just in case it wasn't. The very recent reddit ama had proving grounds brought up.
Was there anything that didn't make the cut for release but will pop up in a 5.x patch?
One feature we had mentioned previously, but which didn't make it in for Mists launch, is the Proving Grounds feature. For those who aren't familiar with it, the idea was to add what would be a type of single-player scenario that would allow players to both learn and demonstrate the core skills associated with a given role or class. You can think of them as something akin to Challenges in Starcraft II.
These might take the form of testing how long a tank can protect an NPC healer from a stream of oncoming enemies, or how much damage a rogue can deal to targets while avoiding awareness and movement checks of increasing difficulty. The hope is that the system will be a fun way for players to practice some of the skills that are essential for group gameplay, and for expert players to demonstrate mastery and compete for positions atop leaderboards, similar to our upcoming Challenge Mode feature

Anything close to my Contest of Arms suggestion would surely be nice. I remember this too...I hope it's not forgotten forever.
(No seriously, they should put this in sometime in Mists though I hope.)
