Hi, I have just recently hit 80 on my shaman and i have never played endgame on a shaman and i am wondering what speed my weapons should be. I've gotten mixed responses from shamans i've talked to some say you need a quick offhand like 1.8 others have said to just go out and get greed and pride and there both 2.6 so im not sure what to do.

Again...wrong. Yes, you want slow weapons, but if it's 2.6 or 2.5 doesn't make THAT much a difference. From what I've seen, the epics up there, are 2.5 speed, yet the best weapons for us to use.
...just don't take a 1.7dagger.
And to the OP. Yes, greed and pride are the best for you, and they're 2.5 last time i checked

I've always used 2.6, windfury seemed to chain-proc the best with this weapon speed. Was only a visual thing though, can't confirm any dps numbers.
Most of the geared enhancement shamans I've seen use 2.5 speed weapons, whether thats due to availability or by choice I'm not sure.
Anyway, the point is, the above posts are all correct. You want slow, single hand weapons in each hand, with the higher dps weapon in the main hand if you can. Both should be buffed with Windfury.
Recently with the addition of
Lava Lash
, some are suggesting throwing a super-fast weapon in your off-hand slot and buffing it with Flametongue, but elitistjerks.com seem to be of the opinion that WF-WF is still marginally the better (read: higher dps) option, and they've crunched the numbers.

Elitistjerks have confirmed that slow/slow and WF/FT or WF/WF is a matter of personal perferecence.
With double WF, the thing you'd gain the most is the increased WF proccing. FT on the other hand does get alot better with a fast OH once you reach a certian SP. The initial damage on FT is normalized, but the SP bonus isn't, so after a certain SP, fast OH with FT would be better. The thing with FT on OH is that you would want to use LL(
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=60103
) as much as possible. It's damage is increased by 25% when you got FT on it. It's to be noted that the damage is the same(or 25%higher) than your OH weapon damage, but is arm ignoring because it does fire damage. WF is not.
FT also adds some SP which should not be looked down on that easily.
So, take whatever you got. But, if you are forced to take a fast weapon (maybe due to the weapon being alot better than your current OH) take FT on it.
