Mists comes out in 2 months, so in about a month there will be some changes to talents and abilities then when the expac hits there will be even more changes.

So since ICC there has been one Talent tree revamp, then there will be another one. People say both of them were pointless, making you get fewer choices, Well in reality we still get about the same number of choices that matter. All the extra talents they took out were just buffs you would choose and just gave it to the class. Such as the 3% crit in the Frost tree every mage was taking, or the spirit-to-hit talent all the hybrids take.

LFR was added in patch 4.3, and in Mists it will be expanded and changed. Same as the random dungeon finder, except for raids.

PvE: All classes seem to be balance, those that got legendaries, such as all the casters in 4.2 and Rogues in 4.3, are a little stronger though. Fights still tend to favor range over melee.

PvP: Again, it seems most classes are balanced. Some would like to argue, but it is natural for one class to be the counter to another. Such as Frost Mages being able to kill most Warriors.

Glyphs were also changed in Cata, and come Mists they will be changed once more.

Right now, most servers tend to be inactive due to the slump that happens between the last patch of an expac and the start of a new one. Most guilds have downed Normal, and at this point probably Heroic, Deathwing. So they are probably leveling alts and running them until 5.0 hits live. Some might not be playing at all, such as myself (mainly due to my financial standing though).
