What Will People Think?

I think WoW will still be going, but just barley.
Anyways laihendi, the reason this MMO has so many people is not because its great, but because it has casual elements to it and its also got grinds for the poopsockers, so it takes and it doesn't release players easily.
In the future I predict MMOs will actually be designed to be playable like console games, but with hours and hours and hours of content beyond.
One game I played long ago was a game called Chocobo's Dungeon 2, now that was a great game even though it was simple - you have a weapon and armor, cards and flasks, magical tomes and mysterious nuts, and you just roamed around randomly generated dungeons beating the crap out of monsters. The thing that made it so great was that everything was randomly generated, and you'd loot things with unknown stats and unknown uses, and you never knew if you were going to walk into a trap, or if you were going to find a warp pad to help you escape from a pack of behemoths. You never knew what to expect (except for the few premade boss floors) so a strategy guide or online guide could only give you a basic outline of what you needed to do, and you'd have to adapt to whatever you faced at that time.
When game designers start picking up those types of concepts again, I think we'll see really awesome MMOs.
