What's the reasoning behind the deathkinghts' betrayal?

First of al I have to get this out of the way. The death knight starting quest series is the most epic thing I've ever witnessed, let alone play, in WOW... ever. The part where you get to ride the Frostbrood Vanquisher, made my jaw drop to the floor. The whole chain was amazing. Way to go Blizzard!
Now, for the reason I started this thread: I don't understand why, suddenly, at the end, we turn against the Lich King and together with Mograine we fight the Lich King's army in Ebon Hold. Did I miss something in the quest text? Is there any bit of lore that explains this?
