I beg to differ. I think I will alway be on mm hunter's side. Bm hunter relies too much on his pet. If you're a bm hunter, wherever you're, before you shoot, you're always asking yourself: "Where's my pet? Let me call it out first." In the open, what else except feign death can you do if you hit more than 3 mobs? In BG, if your pet died unfortunately, what you have to next is to get rid of melee ASAP and revive your pet at a corner. In a raid, you'll also have to spend two much time on controling your pet because your dps depends on it. If you don't even send in your pet, your dps is low enough. If unfortunately, your pet sacrifices , you will get ten seconds ready for reviving it. Don't forget to nursing it before sending in. I think you don't have too much mana left now, so keep it for healing your pet.
who has to manage their pet more is IRRELEVANT... the point is who does more damage... and if you even say a MM hunter does more than BM before BT you should just uninstall. The only MM hunter thats gonna out do a BM hunter is good MM hunter up against a crappy BM hunter. Yes BM hunters have to do more micro managing of their pet... but if youre saying thats an issue... look at it like this then... a BM hunter has more to deal with in that case, their life is more complicated, their responsible for 2 lives, MM can just sit back and shoot. in my opinion (emphasise OPINION) MM is for lazy hunters.I only say this because every MM hunter i know IS LAZY and refuses to learn general hunter mechanics. Im by no means saying this is the case for everyone, its just an observation ive had. But to say that MM hunters do more damage simply because a BM hunter relies on his pet too much is retarded. You wouldnt say a dps warrior does more damage than a rogue simply because the rogue has to rely on poisons and stealth would you? no... thats rediculous!

No it's not. About 35% of a BM's damage comes from the pet, where about 20% for the MM so pet management is very relevant. If you don't think 15% damage is relevant then "you should just uninstall." It is after all BEASTmaster.
In fights were there is a high probablity that the pet will die a MM hunter is superior, in fights with low probablity a BM is.
i think you misunderstood me lol... being BM i am fully aware that that my pet is 35% of my damage and vital to my damage output... thats not what i meant...

hes basically saying that BM hunters WASTE TIME micro-managing our pets... this is whats irrelevent... any good BM hunter has been micro-managing their pet from the beginning and this has no relevance to their damage output... all that matters is numbers and the numbers pretty much have always show that BM > MM

If all that matters is the numbers and the pet is vital to those numbers then managing the pet is relevant. A BM hunter without it's pet doesn't carry the load that he should be. Now most of the time pet management is of little concern, but there are times were it does matter and it does affect the hunter's output.
You are probably pretty good at managing your pet but there are more then enough out there that can't or do so poorly. There are many times when hunters are the top damage dealers but I've found more often then not they are doing less damage then they should and those that are like this are far more often BM then MM.

are you reading and understanding the post? you know... the part where i said the time (that wukun said drops dps) is irrelevent... non existant... over played... DOESNT MATTER!
more points to support this...
1) most BM hunters talent Thick Hide and/or Endurance training increasing armor and HP of their pets meaning our pets can withstand a hell of a lot more than your wimpy MM pets
2) most BM hunters train their pets in Avoidance and Great Stamina for those AOEs and more HP's as well
3) the majority of BM hunters talent Improved Mend Pet and/or Improved Revive pet meaning in the rare case our pets do die we can get em up quicker with more life left.
so ok... you can say that youve seen a lot of BM hunters that cant micro-manage their pets. Fine... ill give you that one... but we're taking a general statement " specc x does more dps than specc y" so lets take skill out. Assume that both hunters... hunter A (BM) and hunter B (MM)... are of the same skill and ability. Now assume that they are of the same gear lvl... youre gonna be hard pressed to ever find a MM hunter that out does a BM hunter... it just doesnt happen very often, at least not at the same skill and gear lvl.

Yes I understand what you are saying but you are not understanding what I am saying. Given equal skill and gear yes a BM hunter will more often do more damage but you are greatly over estimating the average skill of BM hunters. I'm not saying MMs always do more damage, I'm saying that most BMs don't do the damage that they should be doing because they are screwing around with their pets.
but in this debate you cant look at it like that... you have to completely forget about the person sitting on the other side of the keyboard. No one can say hey A% of BM hunters suck and B% of MM hunters dont... cuz there is no way to prove that. There is no way to prove majorities. Its gotta be equal... and on an equal playing field, gear and skill being the same BM wins out.
Ok so what happens when you have no choice but to melee? you have no dps cause those both are ranged. Thats why i am hybrid my melee is same crit as ranged, probly not th best crit chance but then again when i have to melee fight i can.
im not even gonna touch this one
see
this
thread.

This is a raiding BM hunters "skill" you guys keep talking about.
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast Kill Command
/cast Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
There is your macro(cough*skill*) that any smart BM hunter will have and will spend the entire duration of a fight spaming for all he's worth.
The problem with MM hunters is that to pull the same numbers off that a BM hunter does. Is that you have burn so much extra mana and weave so many other shots in between your auto shot that it is really hard to pull off all the while having to worry about lag and running out of mana really fast .
Excuse you sir ..
come back with something better then your lame "macro" reply..
