Who's next after Lurker?
Return to board index
Alright, my guild downed Lurker last night, and have done Mag and VR as well.
Who do you think we should hit next? We were tossing names around in officer chat: A'lar, Solarian, Leo...
Anyone have any advice?
I'd say stick around in Serpentshrine Cavern and go for
Leotheras the Blind
. Leotheras is a pretty straightforward encounter once your raid gets used to the phases. The only difficulty you'll find is working with your warlock tank, people dying in whirlwinds, and losing healers to their Inner Demons. It's a bit of an execution but still a relatively simple fight. As for Fathom-Lord, I find it a fairly boring encounter tbh, an execution-style along the lines of the Bug Trio in AQ40 or the High King Maulgar encounter. As long as your healers are on top of the AoE damage and huge cast burst damage, and your DPS are killing the totems it's pretty straightforward from there.
Someone will probably disagree with me but I honestly feel that Morogrim is the most "difficult" encounter in SSC, pre-Vashj. It's a terribly boring fight as well with the tank's scenario being a yawnfest tank-n-spank with some pretty big damage intake, while your healer/dps get yanked into bubbles or overrun by Murlocs. I seriously can't stand the encounter and I'd totally recommend the other two over it, difficulty-wise.
If you do want to venture deeper into Tempest Keep,
High Astromancer Solarian
is a pretty simple fight nowadays as long as your healers can keep up and you raid with people who didn't blow you up on
Thanks for the advice. I have a new question now, having read many of the fight today: Who's the hardest fight we've got coming up (Vashj and Kael aside)?
Most of the fights I looked at weren't terribly complex, the biggest concern I saw was the resist gear for Hydross, which we're about halfway through getting together.

Probably Morogrim as there is a degree of randomness in that fight with the Watery Graves which you can't really burst through until your whole raid is absolutely sure about what they are doing. You need constant MT healing, constant raid healing without ripping, AoE tanking in the right place and properly healed, AoE DPS at the right place and right time and getting healed if needed, constant awareness of who is in the graves...
Fathom-lord is a bit tricky but has a lot less randomness. All you need is good positioning, everyone aware of their role and where to stand, what to do after their target is dead and a good pull to start it all off.
Hydros is absolutely piss easy once you have the gear.
