I wish I could remember why my first character was a human warrior. I think it was because they seemed like their racials were sort of okay, and I didn't want to be a cutesey gnome or a weird dwarf.
Nowadays, most of my characters are the race they are for power-gamey reasons -- but only most of them. There is no possible way for me to explain away my blood elf warlock. :p

Night Elf Rogue - I just tend to like the devious "Dark Elf" race in general RP, and rogue is also my favourite job. I wish there were less classes in this game though. I could've done fine without hunters for example, and had rogues and warriors more skilled at ranged combat and traps instead.

Tauren, because I played WCIII and Cairne Bloodhoof was one of my favorite characters. I was thinking of rolling warrior (since that's more accurate to what Cairne is), but went Hunter because it seemed cool.

I'll be honest...
I new nothing when I started. Taurens were big cows. I wanted to be a Tauren druid but I thought if I played a Tauren they were too fat and big to run quickly.
So I ended picking blood elf because they looked athletic thin and fit.
