I wouldn't say I ONLY queue when there's a CTA.
Sometimes I join a group of guildies or family members.
Sometimes I decide I want to collect some VP and queue up.
But there are days where I just don't. feel. like. dealing with the hassle. If a CTA comes up, it can be just enough incentive to queue anyway, even though I didn't initially feel like it.
In that regard, I feel like the system is working as intended, because if that extra reward wasn't there, I'd probably just go fishing or work on loremaster achievements... or even *gasp* log off entirely.

I did that when it was first introduced. The problem is that I was too lucky. I got all the rarer stuff out of the bag already like the white strider, the polar bear and the raven mount. I sold a ton of pets also. I rarely will tank just for the satchel anymore.
I will occasionally go on my alt priest if I see healers have the satchel only because he still needs gear from the new heroic 5s as well as VP.
I would abuse it now if I were you. I think with the introducation of scenarios en MoP, there won´t be long queues for dps in heroics anymore. Just too easy for 3 dps to do a scenario instead.

Totally guilty. If I'm bored, I will constantly hit "I" to see if the bonus is up. And if it's up on heals, I'll switch over.
I had gotten pretty lucky when they first introduced it (Green Proto Drake, White Hawkstrider, Blue Drake, and I think one more mount I got that I don't remember, plus all the Alliance Argent pets, plus those extras I've sold for gold). Lately though, I've been getting the spirit flask in my bags. They don't even sell for anything, so I just throw them in the g-bank lol

I do from time to time. No reason to queue otherwise. I don't need VP on my healer. I'm not really gearing anything anymore. But if there's a satchel (and thus a chance for a mount or pet) i'll queue as healer.
I'm just not online often enough to make use of it regularly.

I do it sometimes, but in the sense of things I prefer to do group dungeons with my guild. Guild experience is gooooood...
(Also I wish CTA would be allowed for group queuing)

Yes, I do CTA most times it is up. I uses an good addon to tell me then it is active so i do not need to look on LFD page. I also taken up a bit of a habit to record the gold i get from each satchel in a list to see how much it averages out in the long time.

How is it abusing? It is working as intended, players who would not normally bother to tank or heal enticed into filling those roles.
What I meant by ´abuse´ it now, is that I don´t think it will be around very much longer. I really think scenarios will take a huge bite out of queue times for dps for heroic dungeons, and thus, will rarely get above the point where CTA kicks in. If you are trying to get one of the rare mounts like the polar bear or some of the others that are a pain to grind for, it is much easier tanking heroics.

May ask I what addon it is? I would love that addon.
And does it work while on toons not 85 yet? like if you are leveling will it notify you if a satchel is available?

I tank just because I love tanking. It's one thing to rain death on your enemies from a distance or stab them in the back when they're attacking another player; it's quite another to be up in their faces, trading blows and ultimately emerging victorious from beneath a pile of enemy corpses while listening to the song "Indestructible" by Godsmack.

Also, my protection paladins can use their res and healing abilities when the healer is unavailable. My teammates really like that.
