Just tried to upload my profile and my av (avg) showed up with the message, that the client carried a little friend: BAT/sdel trojan

What version of the client are you using?

It may have been the updater. A little while ago, some antiviruses freaked out when the client tried to update itself, which it does with a .bat that's temporarily created (and subsequently deleted). Just because I'm sure they'll ask, do you have a log of the threat from AVG that you can post?

That's why I'm asking the version Katalliaan, we changed the way it updates itself in version 1.8.0 or similar. Now anti viruses shouldn't freak out anymore =)

Maybe you were updating from an older version to the one with the fix. Please let us know if this happens to you while upgrading FROM version 1.8.x.

it was from an older version .. I'll try to delete the client totally and reinstall ..
edit:
I downloaded from wowhead.com/client but now I can't uploade to wowhead - gets a popup with the following message:
abnormal program termination
(av were closed while trying)
