Don't worry too much about questing greens until you hit 78 - 79, then you good stuff roles in.
Discipline is very forgiving on heroics. Even if you are undergeared, you are able to mitigate the damage that's incoming enough to heal people up with the spells you have.
Your main goal is
Spell Power
Intellect
Critical Strike
That's it. While your gearing up, i would recommend putting in
Luminious Ametrine. Get high Intellect while doing heroics. It allows you to keep going when %^&* hits the fan! Gear will come with time.

One final thing, I intend on farming heroics when I get to 80 to build up some conquest marks and get some gear that way (also some of the epics from the heroics themselves). This will work, however I was wondering if you might have any input on other ways to gather up gear, whether it be crafting, AH buying, or even getting carried in raids (a little less honest, but it happens lol). If you have a link or something to base raid healing gear a priest should try to get before going into Naxx, Sarth, EoE, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
Actually, when 3.3 goes live (might be as soon as next week...), you'll be farming Triumph instead of Conquest... If they don't change the vendors, that means you'll be able to gear yourself up entirely in Emblems gear... With a mix of mainly Triumph, with some Conquest, Valor and Heroism.

...the only thing you won't get from Emblems, is your weapon, for which I'd suggest running

Nexus, or get a Faction weapon from Icecrown...
Not to mention the new drops from IC Heroics...
While this list is certainly not a wishlist of any sort, it's roughly a list that shows just how easy it will be to gear a fresh 80 for Icecrown from farming 5 mans alone. No money spent here, except for gems and enchants and you end up with a TotC-10 geared toon in a couple of weeks, depending on the time/day spent farming emblems...
Considering you'll be able to farm over 60 emblems (51 from existing instances, add IC instances and daily quests...) a day, and considering 607 emblems are required to buy the entire set listed above (actually picking the T9 helm over the more expansive one, to get 4 pieces bonus...), someone
COULD farm it all in only 10 days, even less if they also raid.
I wish I had a little more time to build a profile with that gear, along with gems and enchants, just to see how well geared someone could get without ever entering a Raid or spending thousands of gold on crafted gear, but I've done enough... :)
Finally, I know there are obvious upgrades to some of the listed stuff that are also easy to get, but that was not the purpose of this post, so my excuses at the OP for only listing emblems gear when there's much better gear out there.

I knew it'd give something decent, but this is beyond my expectations... 25k mana, 25% crit, 2250 spell power, 380 regen, 11% haste,... I think that's good enough for all the non-Heroic raids. With a couple of TotC runs (mostly to replace 213s), one would be ready for IC in no time.
