Your Divine Spirit and Prayer of Spirit spells also increase the target's spell damage by an amount equal to 50% of the spirit granted.
I've been reading some comments on this forums said that IDS is no longer useful since it doesn't stack with totems but what about spell power? a bit confused here, can any1 please help otherwise i'll put 2 points into holy

This little line from the patch notes one or two patched ago pretty much sums it up.
"Prayer of Spirit: Will no longer stack with other raid spell power buffs."
In a raid setting where there is a shaman present to supply either
Totem of Wrath
or
Flametongue Totem
, either will overwrite what IDS supplies.
However, for leveling purposes, questing, and dungoen running where you are most likely to be in absence of a Shaman, it may be a useful talent.
It used to supply Spellpower based on a percentage of TOTAL spirit. Now it only supplies 100% of the spirit GRANTED....So at max rank this is a meager 80 spellpower. Only half of flametounge and nearly 1/4th of Totem of Wrath.

No, it doesn't stack with Totems. Yes, it's useful for 5s/10s if there are no Shaman around. Yes, it still grants spellpower -- 40/80.
That said, the spellpower gain from IDS is nice to have while leveling up as Discipline, both soloing and in dungeons. Recommended, at least until you get to 80.
