Wowhead Client question
Return to board index
How does one compile and upload data from the WoWTest (PTR) path instead of the general World of Warcraft (Live) path?
I looked through the FAQ and and the README, but didn't find the answer. Of course I hope this isn't something I should have easily discovered on my own and am now wasting your time, but my attempts at changing the file path in the wowhead client program were not successful.
I have also tried launching the Test Realm client via the wowhead program, and I did check to ensure that PTR data was not being automatically included along with the Live data in the first place.
A thought occurs.
Might I move my cache.wdb files to the location the wowhead client is looking in order to make it see them? Or, would that cause some sort of improper labeling of data or some such?
The Wowhead looter has security filters to avoid PTR uploads. If you have unique PTR data (Zul'Aman, new content in general), please zip your Cache folder and send it to email@example.com, precising it's PTR data.
Thanks for the response, that answers my questions very nicely.
