Wowhead.com extremely slow for the past 2-3 days ?

Never had a problem with the site before, but for the last few days, the site has been extremely slow to respond. Yesterday it was horribly slow, taking something 45 seconds to load a page. Anyone else experiencing slower than usual performance recently from this site ? Like i said, it only been like that for the last 2-3 days or so.

Hmm. I had hoped this problem was not as widespread as it seems to be. Apparently there's a datacenter, close-by to the physical location where the Wowhead servers are hosted, which has been experiencing brief fits of severe packet loss. It's not actually a Wowhead server issue, it's an issue with all traffic going through that datacenter--but apparently a great deal of Wowhead's traffic happens to go through that datacenter. We've submitted a ticket to the company responsible (Friday afternoon) and hopefully we'll get a response soon. We'll let you know when we get more info.

I noticed this issue yesterday, but now everything seems to be back to normal again.
*Edit: spoke too soon. :( Still laggy, but not as bad as it was.

Addons with the wowhead feedback/rating tools would be great!

Yea, even though you guys may feel there already are a lot of/enough addon hosting sites out there, please consider adding this feature to Wowhead. Integrating this functionality along with auto-updating through the client app would be awesome and would make Wowhead even more the 1-stop shop than it already is. :)
Oh, and by the way... The site sluggishness demons seems to have been banished for now. Please send your server warlocks my thanks. :)

Personally commenting on this: What happens when a compromised addon is uploaded (ie, keylogger, etc), and someone's using the auto-updating feature? =X It would add many-a-hour to an already overworked main staff to check every uploaded addon. All of this, especially considering ui.worldofwar's past issues.
Just noting. Definitely a good suggestion. =)

WoW addons aren't executable files, they're lua scripts that can't perform hostile actions. The only way you could get infected this way is if you download a self-installer that installs other files than just the plugin.
If Wowhead's (at this point theoretical) addon manager performs a simple automatic screening to weed out any executables (.exe, .scn, .msi etc), and only installs files into the interface\addon subfolder of WoW the risks would be quite minimal, maybe even nonexistent. :)
