From what I know about this issue, I have come to know about that Thottbot as well as Wowhead had ads that sent out keyloggers or something along those lines. I know that Wowhead have now changed that so there isn't any bad ads anymore.
To prevent this issue, you can get a few addons for firefox (if you use it) and get Noscript or what ever its called and Adblock Plus. Myself, I haven't witnessed or had suspitions about these keyloggers.
